Joanne
i have booked City hotel Bydgoszcz Snap. See you there Sorry if I can't answer any more of your questions but if most people are staying there it must be the in place and can't be that far away. Also I've asked Rico too many questions already.
KevH
if most people are staying there it must be the in place I guess it's also got a bathroom then Jo? Papa Bazarou
i have booked City hotel Bydgoszcz, is it far from the track? i have never been to Poland before any advice would be welcome. SJW, have been twice now 2001 and 2003. We've always flown into Berlin then caught the train over the border through to Bydgoszcz - about 6.5 hours but a great way to see the country - quite an adventure really ! This year the choices look better with Air Polonia fyling direct to Poland as well now. From memory (have stopped in the Hotel Brda only so far, which tends to have half of the BSPA stopping there, a real whos who of British promoters and quite a few referees as well, plus one or 2 riders and ex-riders) the City Hotel is walkable from the stadium, but I'm sure Rico can clarify. Not sure how things will change this year though as Poland will be joinihn the EU, in May I believe. All in all, its a great place, pretty cheap. To wet the appetite, I've posted a seelction of pictures from our trip last year http://community.webshots.com/user/papabazarou Enjoy ! Mateusz
Hello people, I`m back to the forum i have booked City hotel Bydgoszcz, is it far from the track? Well, it`s near the railway station - about 4 km to the stadium them. If you go on foot it usually takes about 50 mins through the centre of the city. When and how can i get tickets? There will be online booking but not so soon I think. Just check speedwaygp.com. There have never been any problems with getting tickets. You can even buy them on the GP day. Is it easy to get tickets for the trains from Warsaw? sure i have never been to Poland before any advice would be welcome. I`m not sure if I know Bydgoszcz better than Rico but if you got any questions - go ahead

That'll make a pleasant change from last year (Yeah, I know you re-booked really) I think its got a bit more than that, Kev Here are some of the facilities it has. The hotel service: restaurant, bar, night club, conference rooms, view terrace, room service, laundry, hairdressing salon, clothing boutique, cosmetics boutique, beauty salon, solarium, Jacuzzi, sauna, gym, car rental, multi-language service, guarded car-park, also for coaches. Looking forward to meeting you in the bar SJW . No use putting a photo up of myself, I'll look a different woman after I've been in the beauty salon etc etc
sjw ministerofport
Once again thanks for the replies. It will be good to see you Joanne. Thanks for the pictures Mateuszit looks a great place can't wait. We are staying in Warsaw for three nights, so i hope the beer is good and cheap. Any hints about the city would be nice. I have air tickets with LOT going from Heath Row £190 not to bad. Got to learn a few Polish words now. Thanks again
Rico
We are staying in Warsaw for three nights, so i hope the beer is good and cheap.Any hints about the city would be nice. I have air tickets with LOT going from Heath Row £190 not to bad. Got to learn a few Polish words now. Hi sjw, Hopefully I'll be able to give you some pointers. Warsaw is quite an interesting place, a lot to see there. Has some nice green areas, a lot of monuments / buildings to look at and also has lots of shops, depends what you want from the place. As for the beer, it's like anywhere - some places go ott (stay out of any of the Holiday Inn / Marriott hotel bars for starters - they charge around 12-15 zl, around £2 a beer). There are plenty of restaurants and bars in Warsaw to cater for almost every taste. Pre/during trip reading material that might be of use to you - I quite like the "Rough Guide to Poland" - gives quite in-depth coverage of Warsaw, but a lot of other interesting info can be gleaned from there. If you want to be able to communicate in Polish, then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Lonely Planet Polish Phrasebook. It's been put to use a few times. As I've mentioned on a couple of other threads, try looking up sites like Virtual Tourist which has lots of useful info and tips and also whets the appetite for some of the treats in store I do hope that was £190 for 2 return tickets - the introduction of Air Polonia seems to have generated some healthy competition between the rival airlines and the tickets are around 40% cheaper than they were were 4 years ago. I'm sure you'll have a great time when you're out there - if you need anything else, just shout. Otherwise, hopefully bump into you out there. Have to say the price for the City Hotel is a bit much - we're booked into the Pod Orlem, a classy old-style hotel and I can't imagine (I haven't had it confirmed) it being more than £60 per room per night. I've stayed there the last 3 years and they really look after you, but may be booked out by now. City Hotel, however, does have the advantage of having the nightclub underneath it, which is a must-do - only a short stagger back to our hotel from there Rico
Joanne
I reserved my room in the City Hotel and then noticed that the Pod Orlem was £75 for two nights. I reserved that also. The next day I got a confirmation from the City and a rejection from the Pod (fully booked). So I'm in the City for about £100 for the two nights. Some websites are coming up as £88 per night for a single room in the City. I'm in the Metropol for the night I arrived in Warsaw, that was £37. the flight was £49. So I'm still cheaper than Travel Plus at £500. I know I've still got National Express to pay for to Stansted and the train to Bydgoszcz. sjw ministerofport
Looks like you got a good deal Joanne, good luck to you. It looks like the city hotel gives agants blocks of rooms to sell and they charge differently. When i fist tried to book the city hotel it kept coming up full, so to be honest i'm just glad to have got a place even though it is a bit dearer. Guest Hutchie
Sounds like things are coming together for everyone. Just tickets need sorting now! Were flying with LOT and staying in both Warsaw and at the Pod in Bydgoszcz. Look forward to hopefully stumbling across you all in the bars ;-) Many thanks once again to Rico et al for all the help and advice!
