mickthemuppet
Foxhall Stadium has just been sold. It was previously owned by Ipswich speedway Ltd. Are Speedworth the new owners or is it somebody else. Is this good or bad news for the Witches. I see new seating is going in but why on the straight near the third bend

Are Speedworth the new owners or is it somebody else. Is this good or bad news for the Witches. I see new seating is going in but why on the straight near the third bend Thought it was always owned by Spedeworth and Ipswich Speedway rented/leased it from them?! Thats why there were/are always conditions on how many meetings per week and on what night etc??!!

Ipswich Jules
Never been owned by Ipswich Speedway, where's this come from that it's been sold?
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Posted by Witches Forever on the Ipswich thread that 'the chap that has bought the stadium is very pro motorsport' This doesnt seem to indicate that it is Spedeworth that have purchased. I thought Spedeworth had only recently renewed their controlling lease. This of course may be unaffected by the sale of the freehold ownership of the land. It is a bit puzzling that all reference to the development has now been removed from the Witches website. Hopefully some clarification from official sources will be forthcoming soon. 25yearfan
This has been on the cards for quite a while now! The previous owners Ipswich speedway Ltd who were nothing to do with the current speedway promotion or any other previous speedway promotion are the virtually same lot (passed down through family) who owned the stadium when it was built in the early 50's. Spedeworth are obviously pro motorsports, has spent money on the facilities, need speedway at the stadium to make it viable and the stadium now seems out of the hands of younger members of families who might be swayed by a life changing huge payday! Happy days! Edited January 7, 2013 by 25yearfan
mickthemuppet
Never been owned by Ipswich Speedway, where's this come from that it's been sold? Sorry to tell you that Foxhall Stadium was or is owned by a company called Ipswich Speedway Limited. back in 1950. Among it's directors then were Arthur Franklin,Douglas Bostock and M R W Fison who was president of the Ipswich Motor Cycle and Motor Club
Roger Jacobs
Needs flattening and rebuilding its a dump! Spoken with the trolling intelligence of the fat filled pie in your avatar. The new owner is trying to redevelop the stadium - based on the limits imposed by the District Council.
CardinalSin
This doesnt seem to indicate that it is Spedeworth that have purchased. It did on the article that has now disappeared from the website. Why has the article been removed? Speculating here, but possibly something to do with the stand not being available to the promotion unless rent terms have been re-negotiated? Purely speculative on my part but it does seem puzzling that the article has been pulled.
