nw42
Ward got what he deserved there due to the first fall but he probably had more of a case 2nd time, definitely took a nudge off Lindgren.
John Leslie
Same again.... Â Ward comes down on his own, no contact, acres of room on the outside. This time he gets excluded. Â How can the referee give two different decisions on identical incidents? Did he realise he got it so wrong first time?
BWitcher
I would have thought first bend bunching was the case in the re-run but not the first attempt! Â How can it be first bend bunching when there are only two riders and exiting turn 2? Â Ward had plenty of room again. Â What Ward showed then was an utter lack of speedway intelligence. It was obvious Lindgren would make the same move and yet Ward fell for it yet again. Edited April 5, 2014 by BWitcher
manchesterpaul
At the end of the day it's an impressive attendance when one considers the home fans don't realistically have anyone to cheer on let alone have a chance of winning the meeting. Additionally it's got to be an extremely minority sport in the country and the lack of media attention that goes with that.

manchesterpaul
Â How can it be first bend bunching when there are only two riders and exiting turn 2? Â Â Lol ok amend it to 'bunching' albeit not applicable because of the stage of the race. I didn't get in until after 4am this (= yesterday) morning and have gone right through the day and now night without sleep! I'm doing well seeing that every race i'm alternating from seeing 8 riders and then them blurring into one single blob. Â The meeting had been running at a fair lick until these unfortunate incidents. Edited April 5, 2014 by manchesterpaul
John Leslie
I don't really like Batchelor, but credit to him for trying to get up and get off the track (unlike Ward) despite what was clearly a massive whack in the nuts.
nw42
And then there were two.... Â Â Well I BACKED Freddie to win ht 10, 11/4 looks ok now, although Andreas had the better of him last time.. Â Don't know what it is with Jonsson, one of the fastest riders I've watched a few years ago, confidence issues maybe?? manchesterpaul
Commentator said you don't often see the track staff doing gardening in between heats.....ummm you certainly don't see them doing it during heats! I know what he means though lol.

Cons idering Ward took a whack it wasn't unexpected he didn't clear. Right call though. Batch must be hurting.

manchesterpaul
Great race there and fantastic to see Holder back battling away in the GP's. I so knew Harris wouldn't hold on to that third place.

Ward just sat up against the fence waiting for the race to be stopped and then jumped up once it was....Batchelor attempted to get straight to his feet after a whack in the nuts which would have kept most of us down for a few hours
