dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
I hear that the new BT Sports Channel are interested although they aren't due to launch until the summer. If it means another subscription with BT then I wont be paying up and will just have to miss out.
Backless
Backless never fails. Good point, well made. Excellent contribution. In previous years there has been shots of Speedway included in Skys sports adverts for following months....seen March and saw no pic of speedway, pity if coverage not LIVE but shown as a highlights show (as mentioned maybe on eurosport) would not be the same, but suppose better than not at all. This years Gps should be on par or maybe even better than previous years with the "young guns" being more plentyful. Come on Greg and Nicki give em a run for it!!! should produce some good racing. It still comes down to "so what?" Sky didn't mention the NBA season when it started. Deal done, all of a sudden it's in every sports news bulletin. The fact that its not in next month's adverts simply means there isn't a deal done yet. There aren't any adverts for it on any other channel - but BSI will certainly flog it out to someone, even if its for peanuts with a few days to spare. If it was Sky Sports, Christ knows that there's enough slack in their schedule of Fox Sports subsidies to squeeze it in - if there isn't, they'll stock it on the Red Button. manchesterpaul
Nice to hear from you MP. :) Lol apologies i had to respond to puerility and an all too typical response on here consisting of nothing constructive or counter-argumentative instead a mere hurling of a one word derogatory reply. In fact the reply was truly 'baffling'! i'm guessing i've fortunately missed a winter of misery and discontent on here where most of the threads have consisted of personal vendettas etc attacking anything but the post and honing in on the posters. Dudleywood4eva
Anyone else bored of this?? Somebody somewhere clarify whether sky are broadcasting the gp's or tell us who is. How long does it take to negociate?! The gp's are far better in quality and presentation than the often shambolic elite league matches witnessed last year. topaz325
Yet they still get smaller TV audiences on a Saturday than EL meetings on a Monday!!!! Hmm agree i would have thought if anything the Monday night EL programme would have been dropped in favour of the prestige event " World Championship GP series"...i suppose its about the cost of the transmission moving the equipment around NZ and Europe.

SKY are only involved in the production side at Cardiff otherwise they (like all other broadcasters) just take the pictures fed to their Isleworth studio. TV production is under the control of BSI/IMG themselves who appoint a host broadcaster to provide the local facilities.

You seem to visit more often than you like to admit, either that or you have been checking back just to see if I responded to your rant. I didn't see the point in responding until the season started.

Quite why speedway fans need to get so worked up I don't know. in a few weeks time it may be the case that someone is showing it, but for now, nobody is the answer. SteveLyric2
I emailed the IMG/BSI Media people and got this response this morning:- " Thanks very much for your email and interest in the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series. We currently have no news on a TV deal in the UK market, but as soon as we do we will let fans know where to tune in to see the GP broadcasts. emerald tyke
Jez some of the responses on here  Some people cant have a discussion. All we're wondering by asking a civil question is has there been some "development" with the coverage and has anyone heard anything? One poster earlier said Eurosport had an ad in their mag, then someone else chirps up theres no one covering it. Just wish GP website would keep us informed of any developments good or bad. I like to be telling people watch out for it on tv but cant "promote" it if nothing to say. Id personally prefer to retain the Gp coverage and lose the EL as the GPs should be really close and competitive this coming year, but I do realise GP costs more to transmit with cameras/HD etc, but just a pity now Monster got involved. PHILIPRISING
AT the risk of repeating myself ad infinitum, Sky do not provide coverage of the GPs other than Cardiff. I believe their weekly production costs for Elite League matches are in the region of £40,000 so would hazard a guess that they spent more money on domestic speedway than the GPs. Perhaps flagrag could confirm?
dabbsjoe
didn't the gp website stream the meetings live last year for those outside of the UK ? maybe it'll just be shown on there this season

What on earth are you on about. The SGP contract between SKY and BSI has expired and up to now no new deal has been agreed. That has been known for months and hasn't changed in the slightest, there haven't been any developments good or bad. Do you want a daily update saying nothing has changed. If and when BSI agree a deal with SKY (or any other broadcaster) then it will be made public. Until then you will have to make do with the daily half wit report from the latest wally to post a reply to the latest (although exactly the same as all the others) e mail they have sent to SKY. Lars F230rch Hartvig
well in DK we have a deal in place Viasat who got the rights to send GP,just bought 2 new channels and started sending speedway on a channel almost nobody can see, however you can buy a online subscription for £30 a month. so i hope speedway is coming to SKY. or some place other so it can be watched online
