Kent 2013

Shouldn't effect attendances initially, but when the novelty wears off who knows? I must admit to not knowing some of the names in the side, I'm not a regular NL follower, so I can't say what their chances of silverware are.

I'll be there for the opener against the US touring side, but can't make the regular slot. If I really wanted an NL fix I can drive to Mildenhall in the same time and on a more convenient day/time. M25/Dartford Crossing on a weekday rush hour? hmmmmmm...... :o

While Lambert would have been a 3 point heat leader, and we are obviously a lot weaker without him, and many will be dissapointed i know,,But Sam Woods has been gaining experience abroad ,He went out with Ben Morley at the Rye practice and was no more than 20 yards behind him all morning ,,so he looks on the pace and won some second half races by a country mile the other saturday,,Although we have 3- 3 pointers the faster pair will start at reserve ,,i believe Sam and Adam are good prospects and if Jack Kingston can up his pace a little,,he is already pretty smooth he will be too....It will take a little time and Connor has to get used to different equipment,so if the fans stick with it ,the future for the Kent Kings is bright ,,just dont expect to much to soon.....

What a shame that Dave Mullett isn`t considered a "Kent Legend" by some  !! his phone number was provided by myself in February and no-one has contacted him-I`m certain he would be only too pleased to take part on the opening day.

We're also sure that Dave would really appreciate a call. He's done really well to come through some very dark days and his enthusiasm for speedway has been rekindled. This would probably mean a lot to him.

He was, after all, Canterbury's last No.1 and (I think I'm right in saying) the winner of the last ever race at Kingsmead in 1987.

This is my fault and I can only apologise. I asked someone to help me with this and didn't pass on his number.

I have called Dave this morning and left a message to apologise for my oversite and asked him to join us.

I hope he does and can only apologise again for my oversite.

Have been waiting a long time for a place to replace the crusaders and was hugely impressed by the place and now cant wait for next Monday when the first wheels r turned in anger! Gonna b great hearing the roar of speedway bikes going round that place! Thanks again to everyone involved for making the dream a reality and heres to a successful season on and off the track!

The Kent CTA Fire Kings are pleased to confirm their 7th rider is 19 year old Sam Woods - full details on our official website www.kentkings.co

We also look forward to meeting fans tonight at the Fans Forum in the Central Bar at Central Park Stadium. Doors open at 8pm, and the Bar will be open.

The Forum will start at 8.30pm

Wow that's got to be the best signing made in the national league so far this year , and with Adam Kirby at no 6 i would think all the other teams are quaking in their boots . can't make my mind up which one will be the first into the record books of this new era

there's no need for that is there jim? surely we should b supporting and encouriging these kids? meeting them all last nite they seemed a nice bunch of lads and all seemed to get on well? i think the lambert situation was just one of those rumours that built up speed over the last couple of months and it was never gonna happen? but its now time to get behind the team and give them all the support they deserve. who cares if we dont go pulling up trees and win everything in first season? i think we've got a good team with probably the best number 1 in the league backed up by 2 good riders and the rest will all improve over the season. roll on monday!!!

Don't knock Adam to soon, give him a season to see how he get's on. This is a big step for him and I am sure he will do well. Instead of putting down young riders in this country why not try talking to them and get to understand what these boys go through to do something they enjoy.

Most of them read what is put on here and it does have an effect on them.

I have already suggested to them., that these young lads dont read whats on this site during the season as some of it can have a demoralising effect.. Some will progress faster the others and only time will tell,, but give them that time...

I may be entirely wrong, but I think approaches must have been made to get Robert into the side. Some have suggested his continental diary might have precluded this. However, it could be more simple than this. As far as I know, he is a pupil at Reepham High School which is about 10 miles north of Norwich. Therefore, the logistics of his getting from there to Sittingbourne for a 6.30 start on a Monday isn't on.

I too think this is a bit uncalled for, who knows what the future holds for any of the new batch of young riders or what records they might break. I don't think for one minute Boston fans were cock a hoop about signing ta certain 16 year old Darcy Ward but look at him now.

British speedway fans constantly complain that there is no British talent coming through.

As with all sports, some sportsmen start off and get no further, some rise to a certain level and then stop and some rise all the way to the top.

I dont know which catergory our young lads will eventually fall into but what I do know is that if we dont give them a try we will never know.

What I also know is that they (and their families) have worked so hard for the opportunity, and they have got that opportunity through alot of sacrifice.

I also know that they are proud to be Kent CTA Fire Kings and want to ride for the club.

Personally I dont think I can ask for anymore at this stage.

We are pleased to have ALL our riders that have signed for this season.

Regards
