Fast Freddie Challenge - Sunday 10th March, 5pm @ Monmore Green

Recommended Posts

The details of Fredrik Lindgren's Testimonial have been announced.

"Fast Freddie Challenge" will be held at Monmore Green on Sunday 10th March 2013 with a 5pm start time.

The meeting will use an old World Final format with 16 riders, 20 heats and the highest individual scorer crowned winner.

With the meeting falling just before the first GP of the year in New Zealand, Freddie is hoping to attract some of the top riders in the world from the series to use the meeting as practice for Auckland.

This thread will be updated with the latest news surrounding the meeting as and when it happens, so stay tuned to this thread for rider announcements in the not too distant future.

Hopefully Freddie gets the great turnout he deserves after being a great servant to British Speedway and Wolves in particular over the last ten years.

TESTIMONIAL UPDATE

Further details have been released about the Fast Freddie Challenge to be held on Sunday 10th March at Monmore Green.

In addition to the 20 heat format which will see the highest scorer crowned winner, a unique system has been put in place to keep racing competitive throughout.

The rider with the fastest time in each block of four heats will win prize money, with Freddie hoping to make sure riders will race to the end through every heat no matter how many points they have previously scored.

Lindgren said: “I really want my testimonial meeting to be competitive throughout, and this will make the guys really push it over four laps.”

After the meeting an auction will be held in the bar area to sell the race jackets used on the day, whilst British Grand Prix tickets along with two paddock passes will also be up for grabs.

In addition, there will be an opportunity to spend the meeting alongside the match referee – and this once in a lifetime experience will be up for grabs on eBay in the near future.

Keep your eyes on www.fastfreddie.se for more news on the meeting and details on that eBay auction to sit in the refs box.

Not very often is a Testimonial more deserved than this one. In the day and age of sports personalities move here and there and to who will pay the most, it's nice to see one of the sports top riders staying loyal to the same track in England for ten consecutive years

Already a star line up with the names released and all are considered to be Monmore track specialists so there should be some great racing on the day for a great guy on a great race track. An entertaining rider who looks so innocent face to face, but he can mix it with the best and has proved to be no push over on the track. Just glad he rides better than he dances after a few sherbets

Fredrik Lindgren, Peter Karlsson, Andreas Jonsson, Nicki Pedersen, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Chris Harris, Ludvig Lindgren, Davey Watt, Tai Woffinden, Scott Nicholls, _______, _______, ________, ________, ________, ________

Skornicki, Proctor, Wells and 3 more maybe ?

You have to GRIN at such a line up that is entertaining to the MAX

With the riders already announced and with the two about to be announced it hardly suprising Freddie says its the strongest line up in Britain this year apart from Cardiff.

As Holder, Ward and a few others cant make it, he could well be right but on the other hand these spaces are being filled by track specialists in Chris Harris, Scott Nicholls, Peter Karlsson and Davey Watt. With such a strong line up on an award winning track that every rider will know, this could be even better than Cardiff.

It's very much a GP style line up (plus Ludvig) and the full line up will be announced in GP style too

Looking forward to it big time ...... SUNDAY 10TH MARCH @ 5PM
