Results:

  1. Stefan Svensson (won all his heats)
  2. Robert Henderson
  3. Fredrik Johansson

Very good battle between Svensson and Henderson in both of the heats that they met in.

Posa rode good as well during the qualifying heats but made a mistake and fell while being in last place.

Excellent meeting at Joensuu today. Järf is the champion with max points, Tani 2nd and Vilponen 3rd. 55 year old Timo Kankkunen had a meeting of his career with 4th place.

Last time Joensuu hosted a meeting was in the late 50's. I know it was questioned (I did) if it's right to give them the final as the first ever meeting for the current staff, but it was just brilliant. Over 1000 paid to get in and the track and terraces of snow were excellent. I always moan, so 2 euros for a cup of coffee was a bit steep. = )

It was an excellent show!

One interesting note was that people started to leave right after 2 hours had passed from the advertisef start time. I spoke to a man that had visited Russia recently for the ISGWC and he said it was the same thing. Heat 18 at the tapes and people started to leave as 2 hours was up.

Aakko has his scan on monday actually. It's about 50-50 at the moment with his shoulder.

Saw Jouni has a nice few holes in his leg after his fall at the weekend!!!! 8 from 3 finished heats isn't bad either

What about the Assen wildcard scandal?Seems Sven Holstein signed the papers and was announced as wildcard,at least on speedway.org.Now it seems he got told at the weekend that his services aren't wanted in Assen. Not even on the friday!!!!!!And the wildcard will be going to a Swede or Czech. Now the guessing can start.Nice little twoing and froing on FB  How to make friends and influence people

Wunderbar platz das FB!

I spoke with Jouni today, he was quite unlucky in that meeting. Never seen him attack that hard, but actually his carb was broken and his engine was either flat out or not at all while riding...

How many Finns in next years series then? If Järf finds the money he can do it via qualis, cant see us given a wildcard with the current record of success.

the world championship final at Studenternas in Uppsala will be covered by a one hour summary by SVT.

The finals will also be live at SVT-play. I am not sure if these streams will be available outside Sweden, if they are I will let you know,
