racers and royals
A re-read does alert me to i don't get to see the Polish speedway. Although i might try and multi-task even more than planned but could do with an extra couple of pair of eyes and ears and a second brain to process what would be happening in what lol. Gee that was a long break? 3 hour programme-can`t finish the racing too early.
brandonbee48
Bit harsh, only passing comment. I'd rather watch speedway than almost anything else that might be on my screen, doesn't mean I have to be impressed with it. Anyway, I've got a pound e/w on Vaculik @40/1, so I'm still interested. severnsider
Is there some sponsorship rules in this as the riders don't seem to have any sponsor boards in their pit areas? It was the same in the earlier rounds (null)
nw42
You may have a big smile in 5 minutes Maybe Alan, although he only made the last chance race by the skin of his teeth. Come on Martin, give it your best shot. Good on yer Gollob... Edited September 14, 2013 by nw42

nw42
Well done mate. thanks, he owed me for previous GP's where I've expected more from him. I've liked the look of Vaculik since I first saw him in that wild card appearance, really expected more from him this season, bit unfair of me really I suppose, first season in the big time. Just hope he doesn't diappear from the GP's after just one season, even if he misses out next time.
brandonbee48
Thanks for the company guys from a very chilly N/E USA. Join you tomorrow for Poland. Take care. Alan.

rob tatum
Compare tonights meet to a world class EL meet at say poole ,one had a fabulous stadium ,was slickly run ,looked good on tv ,attractive start girls & had a good. Bit embarrassing puts our tatty ,badly run amateurish efforts to shame.
SteveLyric2
A bit more passing on the 'sand track' than in previous rounds, but not much; a purpose-built speedway stadium probably only 25% full, but probably the same bloke doing the stadium music as at Poole; too many breaks for track-grading; a drawn-out 3 hours of TV coverage for a meeting that could have been run in under 2! Much better crowd, atmosphere and racing at most Poole meetings and all complete within 2 hours - unless Sky are present! Agree with all that apart from the 'much better racing' bit....slightly better maybe.
keepturningleft
Modest but attractive stadium, proper tiered seated viewing, good track, terrific pits, great presentation. Even a relative speedway backwater such as Croatia boasts a stadium superior to anything in Britain (not including Cardiff). Just goes to show how the infrastructure of speedway in this country has fallen far behind the rest of Europe.
PHILIPRISING
LET'S not lose sight of the fact that Croatia only has this stadium because of the Pavlic family, who built it adjacent to their business (road-building) depot on land where planning permission wasn't a problem, no noise issues and as a labour of love. It is a wonderful if vastly under-used facility but would never get off the ground in the UK. Judging by the experience of my own visits there and what we saw on TV last night, I doubt whether the stadium was 10 per cent full let alone 25 per cent. It's location, while ideal in some respects, means there is very little local population to boost the attendance, which was also a major factor in crowds for the SGP. speedwaysliders
Should this meeting been allowed to go ahead on this so called newly laid track with BANKED BENDS!! ?.Its fantastic what the Pavlic family have down, but they do seem to have more clout about doing what they want,KK even thanked the family for giving him the wild card to race there!!! Surely ther has to be a meeting on the new surface before they can use the track for a big event like this. Thanks must go to the startline girls for keeping my attension focused throughout this!! pugwash
Like a few others, 2.5 meetings in and I'm just bot getting it. Pretty naff racing and a championship that doesn't really mean much. It's almost watching speedway for speedways sake for me. I have to totally agree. Very dull meaningless meeting. Amazing that you only need to take 3 riders (Holder, Ward, Hancock) off the world stage and we're left with this. For those who are bored of watching live speedway on TV the best advice I can give is" Don't Bloody watch it turn it off then you won't be bored" The national lottery programme is on I am told it is brilliant. i did better,I fell asleep. Eurosport's sound mix gets me off on the wrong foot. We have very good pictures but the sound from the stadium is negated by the canned commentary of Nicholls and some other bloke. I'm not critising their commentary but it too dominant, you can't hear the bikes and it takes away any atmosphere from the track. The GPs are fine a there the commentators are trackside. Sky got the mix right in the days when Tony Millard pretended to be trackside when in fact he was only in the next booth to Heuwen and Havvy. Eurosport- COULD DO BETTER. Neil H
I thought that Steve Day and Scotty Nic were a 100x better than Pearson and his nodding dog of a co-commentator. I'm one of those people who doesn't think that commentators shouting makes it more exciting.
pugwash
I wasn't debating Scott & Co v Nigel & Kelv. It's the amateurish sound mix between track and canned commentary that kills it for me.
SCB
Nicki title now? Emil, Tai and Gollob all injured. Even Vaculik the next in line. Leaves Laguta 8 down but he'd need a max and Nicki to only score 7 and frankly in the field thats now left, Nicki should waltz to 8+ points. Shame really that the title is possibly ruined by injury.
