greyhoundp
Yeah, seems Darryl Ritchings and Tom Perry have been told they can speak to other teams, wouldnt have been my choice, but hard decisions have to be made, and i respect the management for making them early. Brummie Kev
A shame there will be no Perry, as a neutral that goes to occasional Heathens matches at Monmore, hes one the reasons I go. The fun usually is when Tom misses the gate, he knows that track so well that it takes him no time in reeling in opposition riders then to pass them, alot of the time on the last bend. He's box office, and a shame if he's leaving.
Leigh Nicklin
I am pretty disgusted by some 'fans' reactions to Ash being made skipper. What kind of supporters are so doubt the captain before the season is CLOSE to starting. All Ashley has done for the last 3 years is give his all to the team and this is all the thanks he gets. It's a shame to see Tom go, but let's see what Ash can do before we question whether he's suited to the job. I have every faith in him.
21st century heathen
I'm pretty gutted we will not see Tom and Darryl next season but I can see the reason for both decisions. What we all want is to develop young talent. Patch and Rosco feel a year, at least, on a bigger track will help Darryl as a rider. Tom's average is too high for whatever plan A is. For the benefit of a better balanced team he has to be sacrificed. It's not the way I'd have gone, but I can understand the reasoning. Â I'm also pretty disgusted by some of the comments that have been made by a few. Some have spent so much time moaning about who has not signed that they've not done enough to welcome those that have signed. Â A big welcome back to Ash and Dan. It's great to have the two of them back next season. I feel both can improve significantly. Also, a big welcome along to Max. Great comment by him about being told the Heathens were in for him when he came back from school. It just reminds how young some of these lads are. Ok, some are released but we have three good riders on board and a very solid looking start to our team building. Happy so far.

21st century heathen
Yes, there were some very unsavoury comments indeed. One particular person was most at fault, but I'm not so sure that person was actually a Heathens fan. A new account with little to identify a person on FB should really have a Troll as a profile picture. Â The general tone from many was one of moaning about not having Darryl and Tom rather than welcoming the others and getting behind them for the coming season. I'm sure it will settle down. I just don't think some people engage their brain before their fingers. The fact that there is something of a Heathens cull is starting to hit home I think. berniev123
Perhaps the ones who are complaining about having to let Tom & Daryll go do not fully, no disrespect at all folks, understand the C21st rules, etc........even so we have had to break up teams far, far stronger than the NL 2012 side, remember the 80's when that started or before under rider control when we started to finish 13th or above in the BL of 20 teams! Who ever rides in 2013 they will give their utmost for the Heathens as all have done in the past since 1947!!!!!!! berniev123
Remember it very well, doesn`t get any easier with age though does it  No, but at least we have had a Heathens team to follow again since 2010 in the NL and hopefully for the future, however long that is
Davebeagle
As soon as Ash is introduced at the first meeting next year I'm sure he'll receive a huge Heathens welcome. It is after all, the minority of Heathens fans who comment on Facebook, it's not an accurate indication of the overwhelming support the team receives week in week out, and I don't see that changing next season.
roguetrader
Ashley Morris is an excellent signing for you. A very shrewd decision in a very difficult position. It was never going to be possible to keep both Ash and Tom due to their averages. Your current signings look very promising. berniev123
Can we now run a MDL team as The Huns as we need to get youngsters of our own? Did this at Dudley Wood way back on a Wednesday night and got a fair few riders out of it, most of note......Dave Perks! Stick a Heathens head race jacket on them or the 2013 NL team and BLISS!!!!! Ommer Mon
I have been surprised by the choices the management have made so far. I would have done the opposite, as far as Tom and Darryl are concerned, but you can see the logic of both decisions. I certainly won't be going on Facebook to have a moan though! Its a hard enough task without a few 'experts' having an ill mannered 'go'. Â It was always the same at Cradley when Pratty had to do this year on year. Â Whatever team we put out will still be our team and the management are clearly going to pack the middle order with lads who have the potential to improve their averages and, at the end of the day, isn't that what this League is all about? Â I thoroughly expect Tom to return and do a Bobby Schwartz (and ya know wot that means doh ya!)and best of luck to him wherever he ends up next year.
Ommer Mon
Whoops, I forgot that not everyone out there is a Cradley fan!! Â We were 0.02 over the points limit and released Bobby before the 1980 season started and he came back to score a brilliant 21 point maximum with Reading beating Mr Penhall & Co along the way. The only away rider to ever score a maximum that was greeted with a standing ovation at Dudley Wood (not that there was ever much of an option to sit down there). berniev123
According to tonight's local rag Byron won't be back either, we have only kept Ash & Dan from the League Leaders 2012 side! Now that is some rebuild to do in time for 2013..........at least we have added Max who is an excellent prospect.

Well if thats true 123, it will be one heck of a clearout, and I would expect possibly an Experienced rider to be in there, possibly an ex Heathen, backed up by some progressive young uns, as to who they may be, time alone will tell, but i await with eager anticipation. berniev123
Hi Greyhoundp, If, and I did say, if you can get your hands on the local Dudley News (28th November 2012) on the back page it has an article that says that Tom had to leave due to his 9.88 average and what a nightmare Nigel has had since last Thursday! Adam, Tom, Darryl, Byron & Jamie were shown the exit door due to rebuilding for NL 2013 rebuilding BUT when the time is right Tom & Ash could be back in the PL............hopefully this time next year! We should have 5, yes I did say 5, new signings for 2013, so who are the missing 4?????????????????? The 3 we have got so far, Ash, Dan & Max seem to be happy bunnies due to their comments! Regards, Bernie
MrMungo
It's been strongly rumoured that Lewis Blackbird is off to Dudley as the 2nd heat leader.

TividaleHeathen
I`d prefer to keep Byron  Me too Martin!! He was in great form before his injury and was improving all the time, would be a shame to see him miss out.
