Bryn
Likewise MC, looking forward to it and, knowing my mate who'll be chauffeuring, stopping at the Red Lodge for a feed on the way home! He can't go more than about 100 miles and/or two hours without food! Edited November 7, 2012 by Bryn
Mimmo
I'm also looking forward to this Bryn, and just hope that the 'STRONG' man will be splitting you and your chaffeur up whilst you're working. Seriously though, the Dragons end of season bash is always a hoot, and more than worth attending. Weather forecast is not that brilliant (40% chance of rain), but as long as that referee geezer keeps his finger on the buzzer, it'll hopefully reach its natural conclusion, then the chauffeur can have a meal at the Red Lodge on both in the inward and outward journey Look forward to seeing you all. Mimmo
Oh dear, it's absolutely pouring with rain here and has been for most of the night, do hope it clears before 4.00pm, but fear the damage may well have already been done. If amybody connected with running the meeting gets any news, would they please post it on here. Thank You.
Mimmo
The rain has FINALLY stopped, and there are early signs that the sun is going to peep through. In the space of 15-minutes the pavements are beginning to dry already, so hopefully the meeting will go ahead as planned.
Bryn
Met Office got things right - See you all later as we're leaving here in Kent circa 1pm. Meanwhile those closer can always check on any possibility of rain (but none expected from hereon!) at: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/observations/?tab=map&map=Rainfall and via other parts of the website. em1500uk
Hi all! Don't know anything about this, so could someone enlighten me? How long is this meeting going on for and what's the format? I know I'm asking a bit late, but only just seen this, and I'd like to see some speedway as it's a long while to wait until March! Mimmo
Hi all! Don't know anything about this, so could someone enlighten me? How long is this meeting going on for and what's the format? I know I'm asking a bit late, but only just seen this, and I'd like to see some speedway as it's a long while to wait until March! I don't know what format it is taking this year. Last year the meeting was made up of three different team events, one each for Open, Intermediate & Novice Class. Meetings usually last between two and three hours and riders are generally a mixture of amateurs with some National League riders thrown in for good measure. The meeting starts at 4.00pm and admission is FREE, with just £1 to pay for a pukka programme. With rain once again looking threatening, one would hope that the referee and organisers will strive to get proceedings completed as quickly as possible. Don't know if you've ever been to an amateur meeting before, but as one race finishes, the riders are leaving the pits in readiness for the next race. Quite impressive really. em1500uk
Nope never been up to an amateur meeting before but we're now heading up to have a look. We may well miss the start but never mind If there's more than 15 heats and it's free, one can't grumble!

Thanks to all the people involved in organising and running these very enjoyable events, and to the riders for competing in them. Thanks also to my friends in the box, namely Chris Golding, John Strong and Bryn Williams, who have been a great help to me for many reasons this year, along with Les Drury & Dick Jarvis. Hope you all have a safe winter, and look forward to being in your company again next March.....ish!
