Mildenhall 2013

Does anyone else think its a little strange why we haven't officially named one rider yet? we sit alongside Kent (and they haven't built their track yet) so obviously they are going to be a bit behind the others. But not one has been listed on the bspa website or announced on the official website. I know I have mentioned this before, but it is puzzling? This is not a dig at the promotion as we all know what they achieved last year, which was excellent, so I would have thought we would have been a little quicker off the mark?

Good point, I suspect that it will be down to juggling around points now that JJ has gone to get the best balance from the riders available - would make sense in my view to get the complete 1-7 nailed down and released en masse as suggested by PhilK on Fb, looks like an excellent decision by Promotion not to have rushed an early declaration and then had to do an about turn.

Don't think there is any immediate deadline before riders have to be sanctioned by BSPA. I would suspect that the riders definitely confirmed are already signed up.

If you mean Halifax Tiger - don't tell anyone , I keep it low key ;) , have got me street cred to keep up. Same to you Tony and best wishes for a good 2013.

Cheers

Thanks Kev I do know what you mean street cred, anyone friends with those shorts must be a bit off ;)

With friends like these............

The Baron of Merstone and the Beast of Saffron Walden talking about street cred is a bit like Les Dawson talking about piano playing. :D

I daresay you reprobates (including Phil K and BP) will see me next season, but not if I see you first.

I am not certain why but I am looking forward to my trips to East Anglia and the 'World's biggest retirement home' in 2013 already :t: .

It looks like he had a CL average in 2004 of 9.78 and a PL average last season of 4.9.

People have mentioned on here that there is a 0.6 conversion rate if he doesn't have a PL team place which would make his NL average 8.17.

It has also been said that it is whichever average was the highest, so I'm guessing it would be 9.78.

I'm not sure the rules are that clear, but if he could ride for Mildenhall, I'm sure he would do a good job.

Agree on the rules, they sometimes seem to be a moving feast ( not sure if a 2004 would still have any effect? ), after watching Roynon last year Schramm would be a good call for both parties.

Just read the press release: 'Another rider we looked at has now been offered a big sponsorship to stay where he raced last year and yet another we had talks with after he missed virtually the whole of last season, again seems set to stay put.' Looking at the big hitters who are yet to resign I can only see Charles Wright unless they mean one of the Rye lads at Kent. As to the rider who missed most of the year, Ben Taylor? I can't remember why he left. Is Tim Webster worth a shout?

I thought Ben Taylor missed all of last year?

Riders who have stayed where they were could be a rider who has already been announced? Maybe they were after Ben Reade again?

Yes you're probably right about the latter. Having said it, I'm not sure if Taylor actually rode but I'm pretty sure he was in an early declaration.

Edit: Found it, April 4th he left and it was given as 'financial reasons'
