Mildenhall 2013

I'm prepared to admit they I've probably overreacted a tad on this thread and I'm not really one for close-season bickering so I'm going to leave it at that

I wouldn't say that. But I will say that I thought it was KKS on another one of his missions until I saw a semi-naked man as an avatar! ;)

How come no signings have been confirmed on either BSPA or Mildenhall websites?!

Halsey a solid rider round Mildenhall, but the challenge for him is to prove he can be a heat-leader away from home.

A solid side, but like any other successful side in Speedway, Mildenhall have had to let some good riders go and while they'll be tough to beat at West Row, it'll be interesting to see how they fare away from home.

Fair comments, read the disclaimer but a bit PC IMO as this is a discussion forum and don't see that any rider would be unsettled by us lot or choose our career advice.

At NL level every penny whilst invaluable for youngsters & family is hopefully not the main driving force behind decisions, not aware that Mildy are splashing out mega money seems more rider development focused. I suspect that the likes of Josh & Nathan want to be at Mildy because of the opportunities to work with, and learn from, the many years of experience etc of the promotion which will hopefully give them an excellent grounding and launch them into long term successful careers in the sport.

Interesting that Swindon were instrumental in moving Ritchings from Dudley, who did an excellent job for him, to a larger track to make him a more rounded rider which whilst unfortunate for Dudley has to be applauded for development and career planning.

What about this team?

Stefan Nielson 8.32

Josh Bates 5.30

Lewis Kerr 6.67

Connor Coles 4.30

Dan Halsey 6.57

Aaron Baseby 5.26

Nathan Stoneman 3.00

39.42

Cant see it Damon, Kerr meant to be PL Leicester bound if Fb info is correct would be a heck of a long tail to start the season with 1 heat leader

I suspect that there are a few surprises on the way, CL has obviously sanctioned the JJ move so I am sure he has all in hand.

Would be competitive at home, for sure, but could struggle away. Halsey has something to prove as a heat-leader on away tracks.

Connor Coles must be fairly likely to ride for Kent I'd have thought. And obviously Kerr is at Leicester, which would clash at times.

Still wondering why no website updates for a month and no Mildenhall signings confirmed on BSPA site, even though ML had announced six signings in the Cambridge News (albeit now Jacobs has moved on).

Am I missing something here but Kerr isn't in Leicester's 1-7 so why is it assumed he'll be there?

Leicester announced a couple of weeks back that Blackbird and Kerr would be sharing their number 7 spot.

That isn't quite what they said. They said at the LSSC Xmas bash " Blackbird is in the 1-7 and Leicester have requested a DU rule to be changed at the NL AGM for Kerr to be included in the Lions team so they can't confirm until then his inclusion". I'm not sure what that rule is but that came from co-promoter Alan Jones. Seems to be a bit odd for the NL to be stiffling progress with a DU rule that stops riders progressing.

Does anyone else think its a little strange why we haven't officially named one rider yet? we sit alongside Kent (and they haven't built their track yet) so obviously they are going to be a bit behind the others. But not one has been listed on the bspa website or announced on the official website. I know I have mentioned this before, but it is puzzling? This is not a dig at the promotion as we all know what they achieved last year, which was excellent, so I would have thought we would have been a little quicker off the mark?
