Is There A Final 25/10?! Witches V Rebels Lc

Recommended Posts

Seems to be a forgotten match.

Can the Witches pull back 14 points to sneak a trophy away from the Rebels?

I think it will be close and go to a last heat decider.

Could go either way.

Up the Witches!!

Can you really see us clawing back such a deficit ?

Even if we did get close we've been pretty weak in the 2nd half of meetings the whole season .

I can see us winning but not by enough I'm afraid

Although I did confidently predict Mildenhall wouldn't overturn a similar deficit in the Nat league play off final and was pleased to be wrong . ( just goes to show what I know , eh )

I will be there though to get as much of a speedway fix as I can before the long winter !

Just hope all 7 of our lads have a good night, could get close. Be interesting to see which of the meetings the floating fans will pick. If we pull this off it'll be a great night, but it'll be a dead rubber if the rebels get off to a good start. But those that can only afford one meeting, might plump for Saturday, even though it'll be bloody freezing.

Should be £15 for tonight but only £10 for sat by showing ticket from tonight. More people would have gone to both that way. Need a good start tonight and no silly mistakes. Hope Nielsen OK from last nights fall, perry should be missing, but no news on replacement yet..... lewis Kerr has be named :-)

Ha ha ha you must be joking

As for the meeting I think Somersets lead from the Ist leg will be unsurmountable and really Im sorry to say this is a pretty dead meeting. Prove me wrong Witches and I will eat humble pie :approve:

Well done the Craig Cook Rebels, and Kyle the best reserve in the League, at last a trophy for Debbie to polish.:drink: Seemed a great fightback by Witches but Somerset kept their nerve. Sadly Wrighty's P45 must surely be in the post, and on this performance, Scunthorpe must think they have one hand on the Premier Trophy..

Well done to Cookie but he only did what the man he was replacing has done at Ippo twice (i think) already this season. Congrats to all the Rebels plus our injured men of Jason and Tom (who i reckon wouldn't have had three lasts either if fit). Lets hope we can build a decent lead against Scunny tomorrow night at the OTA.

Bad Luck to Ipswich as well as they staged a spirited comeback in tonights meeting.

Well done to the Rebels for a deserved victory.

Nearly but not quite from the Witches with Dak below par and Mat outshone by Newman when it mattered.

Cook was faultless but Doyle would most likely have done the same.

Vissings kamikazee move in 13 nearly spoilt the night but didnt affect the result.

If all matches had this kind of passion and excitement then speedway would have far less problems.

I think the total lack of atmosphere and lack of presentation trying to gee the crowd to get behind our boys didn't help. It didn't seem like a cup final to me.

I wasn't there tonight unfortunately, so you guys are going to have to help me out here................did you both watch the same match, or have I missed something ?

A big well done to everyone who wore the Rebels colours tonight, and also to those who weren't able to..................there are some out there who should remember that there was a whole season that went into this result, not just this one meeting !!

Witches left themselves with too much to do after the first leg but nearly did it, nearly seems a fitting word for the Witches! Also it was the 3rd time a Somerset number 1 has scored a maximum at Foxhall this year, Bach and Barker have also got full houses on their travels. The Witches didn't start great but upped the pace in the mid part of the meeting all for it to die out after Vissing's move in heat 13. Crowd had got behind the boys after Poole's pass in heat 12 but then all the momentum was lost with the interval after the heat, then came Vissing's match winning move. Wiped out both Witches going into the 3rd bend, rightly excluded but damage was done,Tungate and Lanham clearly struggling in the rerun. Heat 14 saw game over as Newman who hadn't done to much until then, he had beaten a team mate and Nielsen 3 times, and Tress once, outgated a under performing North( best bikes on way to Argentina maybe?) and Tress. Witches riders not for the first time this season failed to show the trackcraft needed to pass.

Over the past couple of months the track has been riding like 2 very different tracks, bend 1/2 tight line needed, 3/4 its the outside blast, unfortunatley this seems to be unseen by the riders and management themselves. The away riders seem to know though! Another pattern seems to be that the away team adapt to the track conditions, where as the Witches are scratching their heads, not just individuals but as a whole!

Lanham, Risager, Tungate and Poole did well tonight, looked their old selves. North and Tress were below par, Nielsen is struggling with fitness possibly, maybe Jacobs in on saturday would be a good option?

Somerset did the job needed but more as Ipswich failed to do theirs over the 2 legs.

Oh well on to saturday, and a similar score will be needed to take to Newcastle, at least tacticals will not be available which is right when the score is over 2 meetings

It was lacking atmosphere to start with, and wasn't until mid meeting when the Witches started to get back into it that the crowd got vocal.
