Fromafar
Is it not the British one of the World Under 21 Championship? Held at my track Coventry this year? You are correct Cook pulling out after 2 rides puts this tie on a Knifedge ,other wise it would have been a no contest tomorrow IMO

Where would the club be without fans like him?

emilali
A prime example for all to see of the fact that fools seldom differ. What? I'm only showing my admiration for what a top fan you are. Dick should do a presentation for fan of the year on the centre green, that would be good eh? A dozen free pies as a prize, bonus or what? Goldmember06
We've been awful for the majority of the season. Loads of injuries haven't helped and the mix of the team just aint right... I reckon the Bandits have done enough tonight, although it could be close. I'm glad the season is over and certainly won't be venturing over to Hoddsdon tomorrow for the second leg of this trumped up fixture filler. I feel for the Bandits fans having to watch that dire gate and go stuff in sub zero temperatures. And of course today's battle at the concrete jungle will be an epic battle of premier challenge trophy final action because Rye House has got more lines than a Kate Moss make-up launch! I feel for anybody who pays to watch speedway at Rye House full stop, worst track in the whole country Edited October 28, 2012 by Goldmember06

Bandit59
You are correct Cook pulling out after 2 rides puts this tie on a Knifedge ,other wise it would have been a no contest tomorrow IMO I quite agree if Cookie had been able to take his four rides it would have made a big difference great to see Seb get another max.Was very pleased to see David get a paid max for his first four rides and get a chance in heat fifteen even if he did not score hopefully he will be a Berwick asset when the bspa make their decision roll on the Ben fund meeting great news about the under 21 meeting. At the dinner dance some good news about a sponsor would not go amiss. screm
Bit to much gate and go for my liking but with the wet weather around recently maybe the track was prepared that,I was hoping for way more than a 13pt lead from last night but fair play to Rye House who got things going after a shaky start in the first few heats.Whether 13pts will be enough I wouldnt know, maybe had Craig Cook not pulled out after a couple of rides our lead wouldve been bigger but any lead is better than non atall. Took a new perspective on the racing last night, and you do get a different view of the racing from different parts of Shielfield. Delighted to hear that we will again be hosting an FIM meeting next season, and Im hoping that that is positive news that we will be running next year.No disrespect to the Ben Fund meeting,or the GP Qualifier but next Augusts meeting will be the biggest meeting held at Berwick for years, maybe even ever. More interesting happenings off track than on last night.

We've had a couple of these at Rye House and they are indeed great occasions. You definitely get a feeling you've arrived. I hope the people of Berwick come out and support this in great numbers. Paulco
I thought it was an entertaining enough meeting on a bitterly cold night . Certainly Berwick threatened to steamroller Rye House in the early stages and quite how Rye managed to accumulate 41 points is down entirely to Cook withdrawing after just 2 rides . Barrett took his final 2 programmed rides , and though he tried hard , was always going to find the likes of heat 13 beyond him . Alden was simply in a class of his own and was backed up by Cook ( before he had to withdraw ) and Bellego who unfortunately missed out on his maximum by completely missing the gate in heat 15 . Aspegren weighed in with a solid performance and Barrett was a capable reserve . Dyer blew hot and cold while the laddie Jacobs struggled to cope with this level . Rye were well served by Mellgren , who has developed into a capable PL heat leader , Doolan was solid without troubling the Bandits heat leaders and the same comments apply to Jason Bunyan . The other three struggled , one or two flashes from Garrity included a determined pass of Barrett on the back straight in heat 14 , but he was too wild looking at times . Lambert had a couple of third place tussles with the lesser Bandits , while young Lykke found the large Shielfield Park track a bit much for him . Great news for Berwick to be awarded an under 21 final round on August 10th next year , hope there's a dry day booked for that one . Great to catch up with my many Berwick friends last night , i had a very enjoyable evening despite the Arctic temperatures . Just make sure the club comes to the tapes in 2013 and good luck for today's 2nd leg .

screm
Strange, two big meetings planned for next year but no definite plans to run full time. Just shows how important Berwick is to the BSPA. Berwick have every intention in running next year, and will give that intent in the next BSPA meeting. They need a main team sponsor, once thats sorted is a go for next year.
