Thanks to all that put on the Edinburgh Monarchs Away Matches DVD Night last night.

Very enjoyable.

Great to see such a large crowd as well, 200+?

You must have been pleased with that turnout hope they all turn up on Friday nights.I think that was a great idea to show the away meetings and make a dvd night have they done that before ?Look forward to seeing Matty riding for us this year

The Home Highlights DVD night and Away Highlights DVD night have been close season events for a great many years now and are very well attended.

Matty should do a decent job for Berwick.

Hats off to the promotion for listening to the fans and taking action to attract the younger fan whilst also thinking of the existing fans.

Good stuff.

Let's hope it does the trick and helps bring in more supporters.

  • 2 weeks later...

Will he get a work permit with not rideing in his countrys championships? i get lost with these rules these days they keep changeing..

I've no idea what the work permit rules are in this instance.

However, Sam did ride in the Aussie Senior Solos Championship this year.

Thanks for that he should be ok then, only speedway could have such complicated rules..

Absolutely nothing to do with speedway this time. BSPA would have agreed Sam's situation right away, it is just the snail-like progress of the two governmental bodies to blame.

Workington's Mason Campton is also hung up over in Australia just now. Matty Wethers had a long wait for his visa last winter, I think it was.

As did Jason Doyle. But you have to ask the question, do these boys get their applications in in enough time? By "enough", I mean the maximum time plus a bit of slack. Or is it more complicated than this?

Hopefully this is resolved quickly for all parties.

As it says in the report the clock is ticking, and the Edinburgh promotion cant wait for ever,so you wonder if they are already looking along the lines of finding a possible,I said only possible, replacement.

My vote would go to Claus Vissing. ;) ;)

If it did come down having to get a replacement, even if it is short term until sam can get is visa problems sorted out my first choice would defiantly be Vissing.
