Edinburgh Champions 2013 ? 😄

Wonder what the riding order will be?

I can see that fluctuating between home and away meetings . Obviously Cook will be number 1 , but i can see Pijper riding at 5 at home meetings with Masters at 4 and them reversing that away from Armadale . Cook and Pijper will be a stronger heat 13 combination at home , while Masters will be more effective in that heat away . Elsewhere i reckon Sneddon at 2 and Fricke at 3 and Tabaka at 7 with either Helfer or Bekker at 6 .

what's the latest with the tr rule, is it still only up to ht12? if that's the case can't see max at no 3 to start. i'd be tempted to start him at no 2 just for that extra support. pijper 3, sneddon 4, masters 5 and joe 7. after the first average change sneddon can move back to 2 as either max will be flying or smokin joe will be in the main body of the team.

the alternative is pair masters and fricke at 3 and 4. all depends how well they go, i need to keep reminding myself that pijper finished with a better ave than sam last season.

i really like the idea of a different riding order at home than away and don't understand why more teams don't do it. unlikely monarchs will do this as they always seem to drag their feet about changing rider order.

I would reckon he would unless the Elite vultures have snapped him up on the QT

I would guess that with John Campbell's long experience and Alex Harkess' influence, Max will become an Edinburgh asset.

Also, with the same influence coming to bear, he will be granted his visa. Which means the other first-year Aussies at other tracks should get theirs as well -- too much of an outcry if not.

I see that Tyson nelson managed to get his visa so there is a really good chance for them all

it has taken Tyson a year to get his as it was knocked back last year the other couple of Aussies are over 20 and have had good few years more experience on a 500cc machine Edited by mac101

And marcel helfer completes our team

http://www.edinburgh...cle.asp?id=1253

Really pleased that Marcel has rejoined the Mighty Monarchs.

IMO the best Edinburgh Monarchs team on paper ever assembled.

A couple of solid professionals Derek and Theo providing experience and in the former's case fantastic captain skills.

Two young reserves with bags of talent, Marcel and Joe.

A potential gem in Max.

A young and exciting rider who has already shown he is definitely going places in the sport, Sam.

And the best rider in the league last year, a young man that is very ambitious and has the talent and dedication to back that ambition up...Cookie.

Well done to all involved in piecing that team together.

I only hope the crowds return to watch such an entertaining line up.

I must admit to being very optimistic about the season ahead. Ultimately the trophies will end up wherever they end up but I feel the team is packed with young, entertaining riders.... and on a week to week basis have the potential to serve up some cracking racing at Armadale.
