lucifer sam
What went wrong then? Weather forecast looked much better for today this morning, but proved to be wrong. Just back from a 7-hour round journey myself. Need to beg an hour off work tomorrow, so that I don't need to race to get back up tomorrow night. All the best Rob

All the best Rob Just proves you can't trust what the forcasters say nowadays. All that Technology, and they still can't get it right. Money for old rope. I to feel very sorry for all those Somserset fans that travelled all the way to Scunthorpe, and have to come all the way back and now won't get the chance to see the second leg. lucifer sam
Well I hope you have more luck tomorrow night Rob - well, with the weather anyway . C'mon you Rebels!! Any news on who guests will be tomorrow? Not yet. The good news is that tomorrow's forecast is no rain at all. Horrible drive back home tonight - three-and-a-hour in rain with stop-start traffic. I'm knackered. But this is speedway, and it is open to the elements. With it being October 28th, there really was no choice for Scunny to try to go-ahead today, especially when the forecast this morning for today looked optimistic. Feel sorry for the Rebels fans. I hope they can get back up tomorrow. Just as I hope I can get back up. What a year for the bloody wearther, but hopefully tomorrow we see a cracking conclusion to the Premier League. All the best Rob
Fozzie4388
Richard Hall is still guesting for Somerset apprantley. Coventry look for alternative. Makes sense a shorter journey for the northern based Hall. Bunyan got a max for Rye tonight wouldnt mind seeing him get another chance. squall
Thursday is 1st of November.Read my post again. Sheffield and Mildenhall raced their CL title decider on November 1st a few years back after being rained off on the 31st. I'd presume this being an important final, they'd go for that option if need be.

Brooksy
Sticking with Hall as guest? Why not try Fisher or Robson now? - both far more consistent and proper no.1's.
Albert
Happy with Bunyan, done us a good job guesting a few weeks back...won alot of friends amongst us scunny fans. As for Somerset...Jason Doyle is such a great rider, finding a guest to match his calibre is damn near impossible. You've mentioned Fisher and Robson...both go well round Scunny, Richard Hall...when he's on it...and i've said it before, theres no better sight in british speedway than seeing Hally blast round turns 3/4 at scunny...that said, his scores can be somewhat inconsistent. Good luck to whoever guests, hope they put on a good show. Todays been a right disappointment....weatherwise, this morning was fine ...was well looking forward to the speedway. Rain started lightly around lunch and steadily got heavier and more prolonged. Us scunny fans were as disappointed as anyone with the postponement...but gotta feel really sorry for the Rebels fans that had made the long trip.... (bet Rob Godfrey was too, thats a fair bit of revenue thats likely lost!). A good number of visiting supporters aways adds to the atmosphere, shame that many of those won't return tomorrow. Just hope the weather behaves itself tomorrow and we get this one done and dusted. Obviously would prefer the Scorpions to do the business...but lets just hope for a good clean meeting and no injuries... Advance congradulations to whoever comes out winners. brylcream boy
I think Albert echo's how every Scunny supporter feels. I would have loved a packed EWR this afternoon, the atmosphere against Worky was really good. I feel for the Rebel fans who cannot make it tomorrow, along with the many Scunny supporters who cannot it make it as well. I am pleased to see Jason Bunyan back, he has been an excellent guest in the past. Richard Hall, he can score anything between 5 and 15 (hopefully 5, but you never know). Fingers crossed for the weather and a Scunny win, but if it's not to be, congratulations to the Rebels.
EC Rides Again
Any one know if the Rebels management and riders found a bed for the night at the Normanby Road B & B ? One of those days where the weather teased us all into thinking we might get a meeting on, only for rain to be the winner again! All too many days like this in 2012. I think the bad weather this year has had a major impact on the finances of the sport, hence the growing number of promotions in trouble. I'll be there tomorrow night, but I feel for all the Somerset fans who came up north for nothing today and won't be able to return for the re-run.
