Tai Woffinden

Recommended Posts

Tai has been the best rider in the GP's all season, Darcy Ward would have pushed him if he had been at ll the events and Sayfutdinov aswell. Its a a shame its ended like this but over all Tai has been at the top or there abouts all season!

Darcy has no argument. He injured himself by over riding because he was about to run a 2nd last in a GP. Even if he'd not fallen, he wasn't exactly looking like scoring the 8 need for a semi so was going to end up on 4 or 5 in that meeting anyway and out of contention.

Woffy was 3 ahead of Emil after being injured in a GP where you have to fancy he would have scored probably another 7 or 8 more - he was guaranteed a point in the head he was wiped out in meaning he'd have knocked Emil out of the semis so Emil would have 5 less too.

So if he'd have not been wiped out at Cardiff he'd have been about 16 up on Emil before the last GP.

There is no way that Woffy doesn't deserve this title.

He's score 18, 15 and 17 out of 21 in each of the last 3 GPs, that's World Champion form by anyone standards!

MJJ is a far better rider. Putting TW in the gps is like throwing a gold fish into the pacific ocean

Care to name 3 riders that Tai will finish higher than next year?

Dya want 14?

Any update on the situation in Syria? Are you writing another article on the subject?

Whatever has happened to those who constantly claimed, and still do, that you cannot be a world champion unless you qualify? Have they gone or are they just resting?

I don't think they're saying you can't. I think they mean you shouldn't be allowed to be in the GP's unless you qualify and to certain point I agree but nobody can take anything away from what Wuffy has done this season

i think the only person who has claimed that is TWK, and to be fair he has been totally consistent in maintaining his position that no places in the gps should be "selected".

possibly parsloes may have expressed that view also, but he doesn't seem to grace the gps threads these days.

Perhaps I should have made it clear that I wasn't just referring to those who post on here.

I didnt think Woffinden would get top eight, let alone the top step. But all credit to him,he will be a worthy World Champ, its true to say he had a bit of good fortune with first Holder dropping out then Sayfutdinov but in twenty years the books will show the 2013 World Champ as Tai Woffinden and thats all that matters.

Could not agree more, he has got No1.written all over him.

Not yet he hasn't ...... but will have by the end of October

Have spoken before at home impressed I have been with Tai this year and how he has changed to the ultimate pro and he is reaping the rewards big time and already has his sights set on next season by meeting potential sponsors now to ensure he starts next season even better than this season.

Haven't read all comments on Tai but at the Slovenian GP you might have heard that Tai said he had a bit of a swim and a bike ride in the morning. That's him being modest as a swim was something like 100 lengths, a controlled breakfast, cycling 30 kilometers to the track and then back, a sleep for a few hours before getting his bicycle back out of the van and to the meeting.

To me that shows you that even knowing Emil was not riding, he still wants to do things according to plan and regardless of what Hampel does in Sweden, Tai will be out to score what he can and if thats not enough to win it tonight then so be it. He has a massive following going out to Torun of family, friends and sponsors and until the final GP is over, then he will celebrate or lower his guard ...... for a hour or two any way !!

Should he win the title tonight, his first meeting back is the play off semi at Monmore v Birmingham on Monday ....... if he wins it in Torun, it will be on the following Monday v Swindon or Poole :t::lol:
