Tai Woffinden

Recommended Posts

I've watched Tai ride a lot over the last five years, He's had some really big races and has always been fast, but now he has found something else, awesome gating skills and super quick bikes! Keep your feet on the ground Tai, but be proud of yourself because these sort of results are beyond what was expected! Just wish his dad could have witnessed these past three months!

What a week for Tai, and what an emotional night for him. Good on him for singing the National Anthem too!!!

Well done young man, hope this is the first of many wins for you.

great win for the BRITISH CHAMPION in prague tonight fantastic to all the knockers of him who said he would not be good enough in this years gps hahahahahahahahaha shows what you know

Cretin, even Tai's biggest fans on here were saying he would find it tough. He has surpassed all expectations.

Tai is proving his doubters wrong (me included) and has had a fantastic start to the season. To be honest I didn't think he'd fare any better than Bomber in the GP series, and was only included as the series had to have a token Brit. Fair play though, he's grabbed that opportunty with both hands.

He'll still miff people off from time to time, talking through the national anthem at the British final etc. doesn't help his cause, especially when there is still questions being asked about his loyalty to his country of birth. However, I'm sure I saw him singing along to GSTQ on the podum last night which imo did redeem his oversight on Monday.

As it turns out, the wild card picks and the qualifyers for this season have been a great addition to the series. So far it's been one of the best GP seasons in years.

hit a sore point have i dont forget i was not one of the people having a go get your facts straight and have a go at them

But was you one who was backing the decision? I don't remember you posting in support of him.Think that was the point. If you didn't come out on either side then it hardly counts to come on here now and start slagging people off.I hold my hand up and say i thought the decision was wrong.Still do.Think Jepsen jensen deserved in more. But Tai has taken the opportunity superbly and surpassed even most of his supporters predictions. So no-one got it right in that sense

MJJ is a far better rider. Putting TW in the gps is like throwing a gold fish into the pacific ocean

Because he's not going to have many riders behind him, just the 3 in front each heat

Tai will be outclassed an will never score more than 8.

9 ~ 14 ~ 12 ~ 19 ......

sadly i would say at the moment even in GB Tai is still behind Bomber and Scott. Both of them failed in the GPs,so i see no reason why Tai will fair any better.

Care to name 3 riders that Tai will finish higher than next year?

Just three

I don't think he would just have done well to get 12th spot.

I think he would be celebrating a success beyond his wildest dreams

Heard Tai is set to be sponsored by Audi as his GP scorecard is highly likely to resemble their logo.

Audi Quattro 3 3 3

Yep, I still don't think you'll find too much triumphalism on here, more a startled gratitude. I, for one, would have been more than happy to see Woffinden anywhere within a decent shout of eighth place by this point. Pleased to see him even now talking about hoping to continue the run as long as possible but taking it one match at a time and not getting too far ahead in his thoughts.

I was another, who questioned his inclusion into the SGP and feel he was only included because of his nationality rather his ability. I believe there were many other riders who were better then Woffy. But give the man his due. he has taken the opportunity and really performed up there with the best. I always thought he was a decent rider but not world class. Its amazing how much he has improved in a year. Keep it up son. Its wonderful to have a British rider on the top step, and for the world to listen to the National Anthem.

Yes, when someone suggested, in the winter, he may do as well as 12th I said that this would be beyond his wildest dreams.

And it would have been, then.

To be in the position he is now is wonderfully, incredibily, stupendeously more brilliant than that.

He really deserves every plaudit he is getting.

But even his staunchiest supporters have to agree that they didn't have these expectations, either.

So gloating about their greater insight is a little OTT.

All the credit should go to Tai; not them.

Just one thing though ... is that the ugliest tatoo you have ever seen on his neck, or what?

I think the majority of British fans are pleasantly surprised to see just how well Woffy is doing, but we're only 4 GP's in. Gloating and the posting of "told you so" type replies is a little premature, and possibly tempting fate!

And yes GC, that tattoo on either side of his neck is vile, the mullet haircut's not much better either. :P

I knew he was't going t be misplacd in the Series asnd expecte him to have some big scores in a few rounds but never expected him to be matching Emil Sayfutdnov on full power.

This is without doubt the strongest 15 riders ever in a GP and each one could reach at least one final and I was expecting him to be fighting to get in the top 8 so even I am suprsed how well h is doing so far but I will add that even from day one o the season, I have noticed a difference in Tai.

He is more focused, oraqnised and calm and with a good team around him and the right engines he is now ridining everywhere like he does at Monmore. ....Really cheesed off I'm missing Cardiff this year

Just watched the GP and am delighted for Tai.

Shame for Emil, but didn't he take it well.

Could turn out to be a great GP series this year with so many of the top riders behind Emil and Tai.

Here's hoping.

It's actually pretty good tattoo of a woman with wings that lift up either side of his neck and can only be clarly seen if he raises his head up to the sky as her face is under his chin. ... So the tattoo is fine ...... but wouldn't have had it above the collar personally.

Have to say also that Tai deserves credit for sticking to his game plan of riding in Poland, Britain and the GP's only as a number of Swedish teams have been trying to tempt him to ride on a Tuesday too.

The complete description you give explains a great deal more than I knew.

The conclusion that this is "fine" does not naturally follow.
