Big Al
Assume r/r for KD can only be taken by MK, LE, JG and reserves? All due respect to the latter three, but that's a bit fragile, isn't it? Can't a guest be acquired, or don't the rules allow? Also LB is still a bit bashed up (and i don't just mean by Kozza) if his points outcome last night at KL is anything to judge by. Generally agree with comments re decision-making of management, sad to say. Reserves has been a botch from the start. Re-iterate my previous comments and those of many - too late, and the Rye House episode (both matches) a huge screw-up by the look of it.
ukrossifan
That's intended to strengthen the team? If the management ever had the plot they've certainly lost it now! So you don't think Eklof and Nielsen should score the same or more than RR for Nemo and Sarjeant?? Par for RR for Nemo and JS has been 9 or 10 pts. So should be a fair chance LE and SN will beat or at least match that number between them. Does anyone know definitively how it's decided who in playoffs if us and Redcar finish level on points ? Is it race points? Or head to head results? Edited August 30, 2013 by hurricanes

Not allowed a guest for Doolan, guests for injured riders only allowed for riders in positions 1 , 6 or 7. It's going to be very tough to match Kev's recent home form with RR but have no choice. Does anyone know the riding order yet, I would of assumed Eklof would of been at No4 prior to Kev's injury. Will they move RR to No2 as usual? Rh not necesarily a screw up . if gt can inspire mk, le ae.jg, lb,sn and kd , it should all be ok , but if rc can win by mp in their last matches , then it could all go tu for LL , lets hope jh has some inspiration for the LL and the ts can provide a good rt for the last few matches of the season , it was good to see cc break the tr 3 times on saturday shame the tr resides with a bk rider instead of an LL rider though , the le vs mk ,mdl match was entertaining as well on sat ,well done to the ts for preparing a good rt for the kids to ride on . I gtg so I'll sign off ... jtw
ukrossifan
Well if Redcar get same 20 point defeat result in League away at Rye House as they got there in Cup on Saturday then it's looking quite good for Lions if Lasse (who likes Newcastle) and 1 other have decent days next Sunday, so avoiding a really heavy defeat, seeing as its decided on race point difference if we finish level on match points. justathought
You've hit the nail firmly on the head. That is exactly what he is an 80s DJ who is trying to do something that he's not capable of. And making a monumental mess of it. Long Eye
Another reserve opportunity missed. Charles Wright. Big scores for Somerset. He was offered a place at Leicester a couple of months ago but turned it down due to work commitments at the time.
wandersome
Didn't make yesterday's meeting as by the time we found somewhere to park we were both too late and too far from the stadium to make it worth the effort. Looked a good crowd in the pictures on facebook though worryingly there were no pictures of the racing but there was 1 of Glyn blading the top off the track. My cousin was non too complimentary about the day but then she isn't a speedway fan. Didn't match the press by a long long way was how she described it and the speedway was slow. How was it for the speedway fans? anyone have any heat results. Was there any mention of extra meetings being added between now and the end of the season? Are we doing the sheffield & scunthorpe challenge matches that were mooted. Mick.
wandersome
Speedway wasn't great. All from the gate. Only over taking was from mistakes. Freestyle Show Drift Individual Championship Qualifying Heats: Chris Widman 8 points, Shaun Tedman 7, Tom Woolley 7 and Lee Geary 2 Main Senior Event: Richie Worrall 12 points, Ben Barker 11, Danny King 10, Rory Schlein 8, Ashley Birks 4, Adam Ellis 5, Tom Perry 4, Andre Compton 2, Shaun Tedman 2, Chris Widman 1 and Tom Woolley (reserve) 1 Grand Final: Worrall, Schlein, King, Barker (fell) looking at that line up it's no wonder there was no overtaking. That looks a ridiculous spread of ability to try and run a meeting with.
wandersome
Only forth coming meetings mentioned were the Midland Defence League rider championship and 4team tournament, no mention of challenge matches. Think that's about your lot for this season. Good crowd though, seemed quite a few not interested in the speedway though. Hopefully not. With only those two meetings my £330 season ticket will have offered me (including the freestyle show that i missed due to not being able to find anywhere to legally park and a junior meeting for under 15s) returns of £290 worth of admissions. That is still £7 less than even the discounted season ticket price. i've missed both the meetings mentioned, one through choice and one not so. That is £265 worth of meetings i've seen. I have a horrible feeling that all us season ticket holders will be offered is a small discount on next seasons ticket. Hopefully not. I'm not willing to pay another full season of admissions in order to get a few quid back. Thanks to the track not getting altered and the racing being so useless on such a regular basis my wife lost interest around 5 meetings in. We actually renewed (along with the sponsorship) solely on the basis that we were promised track changes and were expecting Glyn to get it right. Even if he hadn't got them right i wouldn't have felt half as short changed as i do now having known they at least tried. I've talked her into going a couple of times since, usually after i've seen a decent meeting, but it's generally flattered to decieve and it's the usual fare she's ended watching again. Most of you know this already but if that is basically the end of the season then i have to say i feel i've been stitched up like a kipper. what a con of a season. From before the start to the finish. It's interesting that at the start of this thread my optimism was still undaunted as i contintued to give the promotion the benefit of the doubt in the hope that it was still a learning curve.. I now feel pretty embarrassed looking back at the beginning of the thread to have given it in such doses to the likes of Lionsden and JTW for not doing so themselves. I hate to admit getting it wrong, but i clearly did. edited post : on second thoughts i've deleted my response to hopefully save another Leicester thread being hijacked by the usual trolls whose sole intention is to attack the promotion. Did you hear Rob G mention that there was going to be a mini classic (olden days) tournament which we may enter? but I believe the matter of play off's. I'm sure the promotion as much as anyone wants to put more meetings on but until Saturday when RH was called off we still had a mathematical chance of making the play off's but I bet there is a plan B. So maybe give the promotion a little more than 24 hours to sort riders staff and track for such a tournament.
flagrag
I don't think that will be it at Leicester this year I heard that there will be possibly 3 challenge matches coming subject to teams confirming rider availability including some elite league opposition , There is also the Midland development final and Midland 4s so good chance may be 5 more meetings for season ticket holders. stevethelion
On the Lions website it shows no fixture for next saturday, then MDL final on 28th & then says ADDITIONAL FIXTURES, MORE DETAILS TO FOLLOW, so presumably we are going to see some challenge meetings. I suppose the promotion had to wait for our play-off fate to be confirmed before they could start arranging additional fixtures.
