robert72
I (like everyone else) don't know yet what the exact effect of the changes will be and nor does anyone else as no races have taken place yet. HOWEVER, what I DO know, having taken the opportunity to walk round the track on one of the open days is that the entry and exits to all the bends have opened up as HAS GOT to happen if they've been taken in even by about 4 feet on every entry and exit and its not a sudden 4 feet off, it's a gradual opening up from 20/30 yards before the old position. It definitely now gives AT LEAST 2 entry and exits lines on EVERY bend therefore giving opportunities, if the riders want to take them, for different ways of riding each bend. If the riders take these lines then it HAS to give the opportunity for better racing. I'm not saying it will be the perfect race track or more could not have been done at much greater cost, BUT opening up the entry and exit lines and giving more room and options has got to improve it, for the riders who use all the available lines. Unless you , expert Robert, can explain the your logic of more room and space meaning no more opportunity. If you widen a doorway by a few inches, bigger or more people can get thru it if they want to. if you make a lift a bit bigger, more people can get in it if they want to, so same logic applies. It's not a case of DH this or that, it's simply logic! I have a great deal of experience and when you try to explain it as if you take a few inches off a door or make a lift bigger you will get more people in and you compare that to taking a couple of feet off a track then its comedy at its best, you did make me laugh again and showed your lack of experience. When the track was built as a large cycle speedway track it was plain to see that it wouldnt create great racing to those with experience and knowledge of tracks. It really did need alot taking off the bends and the bends being rounded, glyn has a massive job to do if allowed and he needs alot of dirt on the outside but i cant see this making much of a difference, Time will tell over the next month and then people will vote with there feet. neb
lets not forget that we are up against a poster (robert) that has all the answers is an expert on track building, preparation riding a speedway bike and running a club plus all manner of other things so it seems. jack of all trades master of none springs to mind speedway seems to attract the odd tosspot from time to time and in this case seems to have been proved right.why not give it a rest robert we all get what your trying to say your last 700 posts have all said the same thing why not just shut up or put up or even better run along to coventry support them post on there thread and bore the boobs of them .they say you cant polish a turd but i bet robert can bring his to a perfect shine. Oh yes, Robert, I forgot that with your great knowledge and expertise(in your own mind) of everything in the world your only tactic ever is to belittle anything anybody else says that doesn't agree with your view. Therefore I can't believe you are missing this massive open goal opportunity to belittle the promoter with your expert knowledge on everything Speedway on Friday at 5pm, when if you asked an early question you would still have plenty of time to get and belittle the response and look the big man because we know you'll be right and still get to Coventry in time to Brandon in time for the Brandonapolis....... Oh I forgot, you haven't got the nerve, away from your keyboard have you???? Edited March 12, 2013 by hurricanes

As my point about the track, its a new discussion if you had not noticed about the slight changes
jim the whipper
Not long now and we shall see if the track work has had any effect , although with the massive gulf in rider standard this will not be a very good benchmark .

Or maybe it will be a good benchmark, for example if Nicholls or Kasprzak miss the gate and can't pass Nielsen or Blackbird! (no disrespect to those two)
Skodaman
I think there has been several people who have been interested in buying the club but DH asking price was the end of it. Why do you think that? By the way, The Brandonapolis has been called off therefore you have plenty of time to visit the meeting tonight and ask if he has turned down several offers. lionking
Alot of fans are moaning on the Leicester facebook about the practise being cancelled. Saying its been ok to practise all week but not when the fans want to come. I think its very sensible move by DH,AJ & DD to try to save the track for tomorrow. The riders are really not going to want to get mucked up for a pointless practise session when they have a match tomorrow with money at stake. Maybe these moaning fans should remember it is PRESS & Practise & as a fan they are not press so they don't even have to open the gates if they don't want to some clubs don't. I would have thought it's a good opportunity to give the fans a free look at what they are going to be paying to see for the next 8 months , maybe you are of the school of thought that does not believe in goodwill being essential in business .

wandersome
From what I've been told about the track changes by your nemesis there will be plenty of room for Adam in 2013. I'd ask this on the LSSC facebook site but not sure if talk of this nature is allowed so i'll stick to BSF. my question is this Andy.. Can you remember what you were originally told by Lionsden's nemesis about the track changes and why would that appear to leave Adam plenty more room? How did these changes relate to what we actually have? Is what we have 'plenty of room'

stevethelion
So 5 meetings into the new season, not one heat win in heat 1 (3x 1-5 and 2x 3-3). It all started so well at Scunthorpe. We looked so determined and up for it. Blackbird looking like he could ride a moped round and beat the opposition. Match 2. We looked a bit rusty around BP but we did a job and got the result. Nemo not looking at his best, but still riding his heart out. The injury to Roynon seems to have hit the team more than they are letting on. Match 3. Good result. Scunthorpe not upto last years pace yet. Nemo rode some wonderful team riding, shepherding his team mates home. Bjerre was outstanding, Doolan looking ok but struggling with machinery, great to see Magnus back to winning ways, Jan doesn't seem to be in the groove yet, which is a bit worrying as he is pretty consistent at home. Lewis seems to be loosing confidence after a few spills and Simon as lost all his confidence. Has he come back too soon. Then comes Thursday and Friday. 5x heat 1st from 30 heats of speedway is a very poor return. The whole team is looking poor. Bjerre is looking fast but not getting the results. Doolan not doing too bad but a bit inconsistent. The rest are really struggling for form. Where do we go from here? Thank goodness the track is how it is. At least it brings us home advantage .Lol. I'm just so disappointed after what seemed so promising at the beginning of the season. I'm sure it will all come good and we will be parading the Premier League Trophy around BP next year. Come on lads, heads up, and lets get back to winning ways. What makes it worse is the fact that the one we let slip through our fingers, Lewis Kerr, has had a flying start to his Newcastle career, topped off with a paid maximum yesterday, how we could do with him at reserve now.
