Leicester Lions 2013

Recommended Posts

Take a couple of minutes to read my posts , and then another couple to point out where I criticised the work please . if you can't ,kindly shut your gob The vacancies for oversensitive and blinkered posters have all been filled for the time being . but as most with more than one braincell are jumping ship you might not have long to wait for one .

The comment was not directly at you personally, there are several comments from people that have criticised the work and your posting seemed appropriate for my posting. I apologise if you have been offended but there is no reason for the abusive reply from you.

If you don't expect me to reply , don't quote my post . if it's not aimed at me then quote a poster it is aimed at , It's postings like yours that stifle any hope of real debate

If the team were signed up on the strength of promises of track improvements, which are now not being undertaken, perhaps we will see a few rider movements early in the season

The riders will only be bothered if they aren't scoring any points which = no money. They wont want a track where people can come hurtlung past them with relative ease it makes hard work of it :D

LEICESTER SPEEDWAY..................with apologies for the white on black writing because I know it sometimes sends eyes 'funny' but that's how it copied/pasted. :D

Work commenced over the weekend to alter Leicester’s speedway track at Beaumont Park when a group of volunteers assisted in the reshaping of the entry into the first bend and exit leading off the pits turn.

“We first floated the idea of changing the track shape with the team during last summer but decided to defer the project until the winter months” commented the Lions co-promoter Alan Jones. “After an indifferent start in the League Cup competition when we lost at home to Ipswich and Somerset, results improved and the question was posed at a time when the team was on a winning sequence in the Premier League. The riders did not want to lose their home track knowledge and were concerned that results could slip so they asked us to leave the shape just as it was until the end of the season so that’s what we did” added Jones.

The Lions remained unbeaten at Beaumont Park in the Premier League which created a club record as they became the first team in thirty-five seasons of league racing when a Leicester side went through the whole season without losing a single league fixture at home.

Weather permitting the plan is to commence similar changes to bends three and four this weekend which will allow sufficient time for the new inner lines to settle before the Lions pre-season opening night which is the East Midlands Bowl challenge against their near neighbours the Coventry Bees on Saturday 16th March.

Ummm  have you been drinking ?

You know me so well!!!!!

So why false starts/ gardening/ fiddling with clutches/ accidents at the first bend?. There was I thinking to get to the front and stay there. You obviously see riders saying ooo i'll give them a head start and then go and pass them to give the crowd some entertainment. Oh no, I forgot you don't see anything because you don't go.......... Money plain and simple drives riders and with money comes success!!!!!!!.

alot of riders i know its about racing and winning races over money, if

you really think that you can make a good living then you are thinking

about a different sport,i know alot of riders that were struggling to

get to the end of the season.

Not to mention your side of the argument backs up your Hemsleybashing track argument :):)

Shows your complete lack of knowledge of speedway riders earnings, most have other jobs to pay for racing, some have backing from family members to pay for there racing, some have major sponsors to pay for there racing,So if you honestly think 99% of speedway riders go to make a fortune then you are so wrong, how many have to work hard during the winter to pay for the season just gone.
