wandersome
How many of the regular Leicester contributors of this forum will be at the clubhouse, on Friday evening, to ask the management about all the concerns that they have? well i know of one who wont be there. great question , now lets wait for the list of reasons why not . I don't like the shape of the road that leads there I'm guessing no-one went. or did they? so what did go on at the clubhouse? To be fair, It's probably so quiet on here because everyone has given up trying to work out what all the cryptic nonsense above is going on about! Mick.

If you look at the time I posted you would have realised that it was not last Friday that I meant being as the meeting is at 5pm and I posted at 7:05pm. From your remarks, I guess that you will not be going - what an opportunity missed.

Time to accept that Leicester Speedway is thriving & is here to stay, & you are a idiotic knob......Give us an L...... YAWN, you are really misguided on your silly thoughts and by your wording shows you are not really in a position of being taken seriously. As anti leicester, that is so funny if i was anti leicester do you really think i would care about the track being put right so fans would flock back and support it to keep it alive for years to come. Leicester lost over 1700 fans last season, more will follow if the track is wrong & leicester speedway will be CLOSED,if you think it wont ask newport fans whose crowds dropped quickly and made speedway impossible to run. So tell me who is the real leicester fan then ? Edited March 10, 2013 by robert72
Liontamer
So tell me who is the real leicester fan then ? Obviously not you.....idiot. Here's a challenge to you. Would you like to meet up with me next Saturday? Genuine invitation to have an adult discussion with you about your concerns. I will also arrange for David Hemsley to join us, so you can ask him anything you like about how he runs the speedway. Genuine invitation. But will you take me up on it? I somehow doubt it. Time to put up or shut up Mr Robert72. Lets see what you are made of. If you back out of this then I suggest you do one & give up your pathetic repetative crap. If not you will lose whatever minute tiny bit of respect you may have. & lets face it, you know so many people in speedway that it shouldn't be that hard for you to come up with a valid argument should it. Well? I can see you're still signed in.... ?? Robert, don't let me down mate, I'd love to pick your brains. Send me a private message & I'll arrange a meeting with you, me & David Hemsley next Saturday over a pint...my round. Well?

A pity the adult discussion can't be had within the confines of this forum, which is, if I'm not mistaken, the purpose of a discussion forum. Why should anyone have to "show what they are made of" by accepting an invitation to say it in person from someone who starts by calling them an idiot and includes the line "put up or shut up" with its sinister undertones? It's all reminiscent of the playground and does nothing to show Leicester fans in a good light.

johnd7244
Been reading my weekly bible, and found an interesting item by Coventry's new team manager. I would be very interested to hear what our members' comments are on this item. Rough translation: "We have to win all our home matches to get to the play-offs. This means making sure our team have a considerable home advantage. I will be sitting down with all my riders, and asking them how THEY want THEIR track preparing, then trying to keep it exactly as the riders want the track prepared all season." No mention of what the Bees fans want. Haven't seen any posts on the Cov. site yet regarding this statement by Mr Havelock. Are they happy with their lot? Didn't I read somewhere on this topic that the majority of riders enjoyed riding (racing?) on the Leicester track, and the home riders asking Glyn to keep the track as it was for the rest of the season because it gave them some home advantage?. JohnD7244 Enjoy your speedway.

Parsloes 1928 nearly
Sorry to 'interupt' the PL thread but as the Lions' website is 'silent' on the matter, does anyone on here know the start time for the meeting at Beaumont Park on Sunday 12th. May - the opening round of the GB Youth Champs?? Edited March 11, 2013 by Parsloes 1928 nearly

Parsloes 1928 nearly
Sundays meetings were 6pm last year if i remember rightly. Thanks. Though I hope not as was HOPING to fit in an afternoon meeting at Leicester before going onto Stoke to see the Kent Kings' first-ever away match in the evening.. Could be wrong but I'd have thought being the Under 15s etc. and a long meeting in terms of number of races, an afternoon start-time might be more likely...? wandersome
Have to say there is not a lot i agree with Robert72 on (well, bar the ropey track of course), but i have to agree with Leicester Lion about the threatening nature of some of the posts made towards him last night. My personal view is if you can't deal with his posts in a civilised manner then you might want to try just ingnoring them. Thanks. What I remember about Newport is that there were some very vociferous fans who said, among other things, that the track and promoter needed to change and the crowds would return in their 1000's. The new promotion came in and changed just about everything the forum 'experts' wanted before finding out that the crowds didn't increase and it was money down the drain that hastened the end of the stadium.

The Malletts threw their toys out of the pram because the Bspa insisted Todd Kurtz was an Australian after he had entered the Aussie championships . that was how I remember the beginning of the end . was that a ruse to cover the fact that they had been offered a fair sum for Queensway meadows ?.dont suppose we will ever know . but the turn round on the eve of the season having built one of their best teams in years and the apparent dis-interest in offers of taking over the promotion and the speed plans were passed and the place was demolished are most questionable

It's obvious that the pro & anti Leicester posters in here are never going to agree, so for the sake of my ever increasing blood pressure I'm going to just stop reading any of the posts & get on with what I enjoy most, watching speedway & supporting my team. Good luck to the Lions, lets hope we finish with a bit of silverware at the end of the year, & I hope everyone has a safe & successful season.
