1) I said very doubtful

2) without the paying public he is out of buisness

3) I dont think the changes will make alot of difference but we will see.

You need to stop talking crap hurricanes,I dont write what i dont know about like some on here.

in your own mind maybe.

You should credit others for having a bit of knowledge too.

I knew this would happen , the track changes called for would be done and then before a wheel is turned the nay Sayer DH haters would slag off what they're been calling for for 2 years.

Its quite clear that even if we won every trophy this season and had great racing, this page would still be frequented by a few who would still slate everything for their own narrow agenda's

Once again you have completely evaded the point they may look but do they act? :)

Of course they look , how do you think Glyn got the sack for speaking on here if they don't , promoters look and listen to what the paying public say and then take no notice of it whatsoever , they have been doing that for years and have now got it down to a fine art

You would hope a promoter would be not so stupid as to not to if a point was sensibly made and coherently & constructively put. I accept though that at times there may lie the issue on here !

If you were to ask me then having a snapshot of their most passionate fanbase so freely available on here and to blindly ignore it is foolish in the extreme. If that was true and yours and Dave's view of their attitude is correct then it gives an indication as to why the sport is in the parlous state it currently is in.

Hope we're both proven wrong in the assessment but i also think Kerr looked the most likely last year.

A riders dads reputation can only get them so far ,usually in my experience into a team place they don't deserve then it's up to the lads to take it further . an absolute classic example of this was Jamie Courtney ,

Not really. Jamie was a very promising rider until he suffered severe injuries around 2006. I do agree with you though that some fathers reputations can open doors that should remain closed.

To be fair, i saw no evidence that the track changes that 'have been called for' have happened on bend 1 or 2. It looked to me like the exact same track shape but with a bit less centre green. I'm to be convinced and i'm certainly no DH naysayer. I cannot believe anyone who witnessed the practice the other day would come away thinking differently. I'm there to be proven wrong though. I went on facebook to look for changes made to bend 3 and 4 last night but didn't see any. What i did see though, to paraphrase a comment i think (hope) was made tongue in cheek, was a post about Glasgow track changes costing £30k and taking 3 months and how well Leicester had done to make theirs in a couple of days and cost £200. Says it all.

The changes have opened up the entries and exits to the bends, the straights are now slightly shorter and hopefully it will allow more racing lines. Time will tell. As for the cost difference between Leicesters changes and Glasgows, Glasgow spent a lot of money making the track worse a couple of winters ago.

I'm sure Jamie was included as a link to the past that whilst unlikely to work did serve a purpose with regards to column inches etc. For that i think it was one of the better moves the promotion made.

that's not really an agument to do someothing on the cheap though is it.

Maybe he was not the best example .but since it was on a Leicester thread the most pertinent , he had already proved the point many times before he came to Leicester and if they really took him on for column inches that just shows how naive they were .Anyone who made the connection was coming anyway and new support were oblivious to his family history and would have been more interested in a team who at least looked winners .

Why spend more money than necessary?

you get what you pay for!!

wasn't that the argument used this time last year?

have the drains been moved or has the track been taken as near as possible and they are still in the same place . not moving the drains was the cheapest option . but for any radical change they would have to be moved , surely they have not moved then and only made limited changes ?

I believe the riders were asked not to use the new areas on that practice day to allow the track to settle and pics I saw on Facebook showed discs on the track coming out of bend 2 on the old kerb line

Track changes complete

1 metre in entering & exiting all 4 bends.

That is all

Complete joke because the problems were that you have to turn the bike too hard to get round the corner

Most people's view I've read was that the problem was not enough room for 2 different lines into the corner at the same time, which the changes are designed to help by slightly reducing straights and widening entry and exits.

There are a number of tracks with tighter turning to get round the corners ie:- Lakeside, Plymouth and they still give decent racing

So how do you work out that what they have done will make it better and give it more racing lines? have you ever been on a bike, because by what people have said about the very minor changes that it will make little difference because it needed major work doing back in october to correct a DH big cycle speedway track.

Well the Lions riders last year didn't want it changing did they, so that scuppers that argument . Lol
