Third Time Lucky Tomorrow? World Champ Returns!

After two previous rain offs will it be a case of third time lucky tomorrow as the IOW once again attempt to stage the National League play off semi-final against Mildenhall at Smallbrook?

The Wightlink Islanders and their supporters will be hoping so as it'll also give them the chance to welcome ex-Islander and now World Champion Chris Holder back to the circuit where he spent the first two years of his UK career in 2006/7. Oh and there's the matter of pulling back a 22 point deficit against the Fen Tigers!:P

Updates will be available on the Speedway Updates forum I expect, the Isle of Wight section is http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Isle. A thread will probably be started for it tomorrow.

a superb performance by young adam ellis was the highlight of an entertaining match on the island last night. it was nice to go to a meeting without having to check multiple weather forecasts!

Agreed to both comments - a meeting with very little overtaking - yet still quite enjoyable. Crowd less than 150 (including Chris Holder) - I hope people weren't staying away for the football!

And the good news for Isle of Wight is that they announced Ellis in their 2013 team.

I thought it was a decent match, too.

Sadly, I doubt if there were 100 spectators.

Good comeback by Mildenhall after the aggregate result seemed in the balance part way through the meeting.

I dont understand why they use R/R at number five for a rider who is currently fourth in the averages. Surely more sensible to use R/R at 2, like they do at home.

My first NL meeting of the season so a good reminder of what I am missing. Would agree that it was an entertaining and enjoyable meeting despite not too much passing.

First time I have seen Adam Ellis and was very very impressed. Although not scoring as many as Adam I also thought Josh Bates looked good.

Must remind myself to make an effort to see more NL Speedway next year.

:)
