pugwash
Can I please get some ideas from you people who should be the wildcard for next spring at Tampere? Feel free to dwell on it until August 25th. Well it's August 25th and I nominate Chris Harris.
MagicOctopus
I wonder why the best seats are unavailable (grandstand A3). Maybe they are reserved for corporate clients or maybe they'll be sold with a higher price at a later time? Annoying.

Even though you have a totally wrong avatar, I feel 98% certain and confirm that they are reserved for BSI/Promoter/City purposes. What did surprise me was that when I went through the segements during the weekend, I was unable to buy seats on the bottom 10 rows... Hope thats not reality come race day. Bottom 10 rows just could be too low to get a view with the airfence ?? or am I being stupid ?
f-s-p
Bottom 10 rows just could be too low to get a view with the airfence ?? or am I being stupid ? Kosonen said it's only the bottom two rows out and Ole and Bellamy have seen the place. Also the stadium is structured so, that the first row of seats starts about 2 metres from the athletics track, thats the height of the fence element they use, I'm told. PHILIPRISING
TOLD last nigt that they have sold over 1,000 tickets already. Confident they will get a full house. Track prep starts in a couple of weeks.
f-s-p
They had a a few riders training at the track tonight. Juha Hautamäki, Nike Lunna and Joni Keskinen were riding. Kylmä was supposed to be there but wasnt. It's been raining for a while and the track was pretty soft, so they didnt/couldnt ride flat out. Hautamäki said it was a bit narrow, but the shape was pretty ok. Its basically your running track, theyve taken it out in the bends but the inside line is that of the running track. It's 14 meters wide in the middle of the bend, 10 meters going in/ coming out (I was told by one of the crew) The material is "homemade" and the chatacteristics of it sounded good, just that they were not to be seen today cos of the rain. They are not covering it at all for the winter. There are plans to have a winter park (another promoter) at the stadium with skiing, ice hockey, snowboarding and stuff like that during the winter. The gravel in the middle in some pics will host an ice hockey match this december between the two local teams in the national champs league. f-s-p
Good to see speedway getting across Europe I'm ever so grateful that speedway is now introduced to us Finnish people... EDIT: Video from Hautamäki's helmet cam EDIT2: Kylmäkorpi had found the stadion after I left, another video at their facebook site. EDIT3: According to the grapevine, they've been given the permission to widen the track at Ratina by a metre or two. Thats excellent news! Curious George
Can anyone shed any light on the Friday night at this Gp? Ticketmaster in Finland are selling VIP tickets that get you into a music concert in the race village as part of its Gp package but there's no other info anywhere about this that I can find.... f-s-p
NICOLA Sands at BSI says she will enquire and get back to me asap Can you please tell her to get back to me as well... To CG, you should/could ask questions on their Facebook site at https://www.facebook.com/finnishgp. The promoters themselves update it time to time. To anyone intrested, I cannot see a friday night or sunday noon speedway meeting being held that weekend in Finland. Hyvinkää would have been perfect for a noon sunday meeting for everyone, but they are working in the GP and I was told last night it's a no go. Other tracks (geographically not so good), just cant see it happening... Edited February 4, 2014 by f-s-p
mojo
When I booked my flights to Tampere from Stansted (Friday 16th) the departure was 8am. Now according to Ryanair's website it is 5pm but I haven't received any notification from them. Has anyone else noticed this?
