SCB
Also the Men in Black. Really? So it's going to be a cold night and they expect us to stand around watching some old guys having fun? If I want to ride I pay to attend a training school, these guys should do the same. Nobody considers them entertaining, not on a cold December night anyway! SomersetBlue
Done this to death Youngy, but briefly: Threatened with violence by a Rebels supporter because I had the balls to ask him not to take photographs of Luke Bowen screaming in agony on the track with a smashed up leg... Harassed by a steward who tried to eject me from the stadium for being threatened by said Rebels fan... Email to Somerset promoter was met with a couldn't care less reply. no offence shadders your entitled to your opinion but a buycott is a bit ott. We've had our fair share of problems at rye. Like the steward taking our flag down a few years back. Then also the time when rye won the league, we went down and recieved nothing but abuse from the rye fans around us, inclucing one in particular in his 30s having a go at my 80 year old nan. robert72
if the bspa were thinking of holding a speedway meeting during the winter for fans then it should be somewhere central not down in lonely somerset.

robert72
Yawn, where do you suggest, coventry?? birmingham, leicester, coventry, wolves thats 4 big clubs that are central and all with good support and in a good catchment area for speedway, far better choices missed.I think somerset is a great track but not my choice for a christmas speedway meeting for uk fans
Brooksy
if the bspa were thinking of holding a speedway meeting during the winter for fans then it should be somewhere central not down in lonely somerset. Somerset is fairly central for me - can't see your problem But seriously, the weather is likely to be milder down here than in the Midlands or further North. Statman
if the bspa were thinking of holding a speedway meeting during the winter for fans then it should be somewhere central not down in lonely somerset. But the BSPA are not holding a speedway meeting during the winter for the fans....Somerset Speedway is holding the meeting. All clubs have the opportunity to request the licence to run an out of season meeting and the BSPA then grant the licence for that meeting to be run....but the BSPA do not run the meeting, all they do is grant the licence for it to be run. As far as I am aware, though I could be wrong, I don't think any other club requested a licence to run a meeting apart from Somerset. drew2
if the bspa were thinking of holding a speedway meeting during the winter for fans then it should be somewhere central not down in lonely somerset. People flocked to Newport before and that isn't exactly central either plus you have got to pay the French to get there! Track looks a bit wet at the moment but i am sure they will do their best to get it on. Car park has just recovered from the end of season battering and is ready for the next instalment! All the lights on the driveway have also now been changed and fixed many will be glad to know.

I think somerset is a great track but not my choice for a christmas speedway meeting for uk fans Now how did i guess you were going to say that!! No, why the hell should a midlands club have it just because as you say, and people roll out the same old excuss, they are central, give somebody else a chance. I think Somerset deserve to hold a decent meeting, and if i was in the promotions shoes id bid for the PL riders championship as well.... I think somerset is a great track but not my choice for a christmas speedway meeting for uk fans and berwick may not be my choice for gp challenge qual.(2012) orben fund/ fim u21 (2013) but hey ho, as statman says its not bspa running it, people have moaned that gp ch is being run at poole nxt yr, but did anyone moan moan about fixtures in the north?, also moaning about the cold the nyc was held in a blizzard recently with arubbish 12 rider format and we all went and agreed it was a good meeting and good to have speedway so, move on and support the sport, wherever it is.
