Referee Just Bottled Semi Decision

Recommended Posts

My opinion is that Nicki clamped Holder hard and gave Holder absolutely nowhere to go. I also think it was a game plan by Nicki to either get Holder excluded or to stress him into making a mistake thereby getting the threat out of the way and giving himself a better chance of being World Champ.

Chris Holder has been consistently the best rider all year and deserves to be World Champion. My Dad said when he first came over here and rode for the Isle of Wight that he would be World Champion one day, today he was proved correct. Well done Chris Holder.

yes I completely agree with your first paragraph........... Nicki showed all his experience and pulled off a clever and totally legal move off the worst gate........He put Chris in a very difficult position - go for it or throttle off.......... he chose wrong

I dont like Nicki and I never have........ his antics, while being great for the cameras and WWE boos in the stadium, help to bring the sport into disrepute at times.............................................. Holder has ridden really well throughout the season, and is a guy who is difficult to dislike..................................................... but none of this matters........... all that matters is the difficult and awkward decision that the ref had to make

the OP got it right........... the ref bottled.............. no rider wants to get in the way of a title battle........... and i'm sure no ref would want to be remembered as getting in the way............. but he had no choice............. Holder should have been excluded pure & simple... no matter what it meant thereafter

Really thought Holder was going to get excluded. So glad he didn't! Ref didn't bottle it, just wanted the riders to race for it. Rather than possibly ending someone's title hopes. Good call :)

Agreed.....

Spook,that`s 5 full stops :P

Firstly, well done Chris Holder, a good rider who was always going to be world champion one day and will I'm sure win some more.

Quite possibly came a year too early though thanks to a poor decision from Ackroyd who didn't really show British speedway in a good light by not making the big decision. The British riders don't seem to be good enough for the GPs and can't help but wonder if the British referees are either judging by tonight.

Foreign referees take some stick but they would at least have stepped up and made the call that needed to be made and excluded Holder. He lifted, ran wide and took Pedersen out. Nicki had made the jump and got in front of Holder quite legitimately, Holder should have backed off and conceded the corner if he didn't want to be clamped down.

Disappointing to see his brothers on the track getting involved with Pedersen too, not where they should be and didn't reflect well on Holder as he was on the verge of being champion.

Quite possibly came a year too early though thanks to an appalling decision from Ackroyd whose shown himself to be an embarrassment to British Speedway (as if it really needed anymore) tonight. Our British riders aren't good enough for the GPs it appears and neither are our refs judging by tonight.

As for his little mafia of brothers coming onto the track I've lost a lot of the growing respect I had for Holder. Needs to get them under control and out of the way next time he finds himself going for world champion. Not a good way to show himself as world champion material when his guests/support crew are interfering with the competition.

Are you sober?

If you are not,I suggest you type when you`re not

why did you think he was going to be excluded unless you felt he should have been?

in the end no matter how much we would like the title decided it doesnt have much to do with what actually happens.... and the refs are there to do a job............. damned if he does and damned if he doesnt.......... he hasnt escaped being remembered for how the title was decided so he may as well have officiated when he was supposed to
