THE DEAN MACHINE
TAKE another look at replays if you can and see how quickly NP clamped down on CH. That is why the referees say it was an unsatisfactory start. The conflict started long before Holder lifted and hit Pedersen. dosent matter what happend pre fall nicki has done nothing wrong clamping holder , nicki fell cause holder lifted and hit nicki , look at the still photo's there is 3ft between them when holder lifts , i think nicki is the master a playing a situation and often looks for conflict but on this occasion he was hit by holder , unsatifactory start no chance , holder could of shut off but he was never going to and who can blame him but his actions caused the fall , were the red lights on when nicki clamped him ? no they came on after nicki fell , would the red light come on if nicki would of stayed on ? no , therefore the crash was the reason for the stoppage and chris holder caused it

You say that Nikki had every right to clamp Holder but his lead was very slender as they entered turn 1, perhaps half a wheel? If you were half a wheel behind from the inside gate would you or could you back off? If a rider off gate 3 left the rider off gate 4 as little track on the outside to race on as Nikki left Chris on the inside the rider off 4 would have been forced into the fence and gone down with the referee probably Calling all 4 back at best or excluding the rider off 3? Just because there is no physical barrier on the inside of the track is the circumstance not the same? I fully accept that it is legal for the front wheel to be on the grass and that in the right conditions Chris may have gained an advantage from it but the fact remains he was forced off the track which may not have been his preference given the track conditions. No doubt that Chris lifting and hitting Nikki was the cause of the stoppage but surely the referee has to consider the circumstances leading up to that. If a referee has the option for all four back isn’t that better than the ridiculous first corner exclusions of Leigh Adams and Bjarne Pedersen at Cardiff a few years back? I’m sure Chris’s comments about being lucky to be in the re run were in view of previous refereeing decisions rather than an admission of causing the incident. THE DEAN MACHINE
Holder was never going to back off, who would when so much is at stake? But just as nicki knows how to play situations holder knows how to ride the grass , he does it so much especially at Poole, 9 times out of 10 holder would barge his way through but this time it doesn't work, the stoppage of the race is the only thing that matters not what happens before it, as I said if nicki hadn't of gone down the race would not of been stopped yet the clash would of still happened, nicki doesn't cause Chris to lift , he lifts because he was squeezed to the kerb and the back wheel bit a bit of grip, at that moment nicki is 3ft away
