cyclone
Would hope that Aaron Summers is available, but in view of the late choice for Ipswich, I fear a less inspiring choice will emerge

Al Stewart
It's Aaron Summers. At Ipswich, Corey Gathercole (who did fine) was the 16th rider asked.
lucifer sam
DOUBLE BLOW FOR SCORPIONS HENDERSON INSURANCE SCUNTHORPE SCORPIONS have been hit by the double blow that both Josh Auty and Nick Morris will miss tonight’s (Friday) Premier League play-off meeting at Edinburgh. Both Auty and Morris crashed during the televised Swindon v Birmingham Elite League play-off meeting last night (Thursday), and have been left battered and bruised. Promoter Rob Godfrey and team manager Richard Hollingsworth have secured the services of Poole’s Sam Masters and Sheffield’s Joe Haines as guests for the long trip up north to Armadale. The revised Scorpions line-up for tonight is: 1. Josh Auty R/R 2. Joe Haines (guest for Thomas Jorgensen) 3. Kevin Doolan (guest for David Howe) 4. Ashley Birks 5. Sam Masters (guest for Nick Morris) 6. Michael Palm Toft 7. Gary Irving Hollingsworth said: “Obviously this is a big and untimely blow. “Our thanks go to Sam Masters and Joe Haines for accepting a last minute booking for a meeting up in Scotland. “It’s 50/50 whether Josh and Nick will be fit for the two Workington meetings on Saturday and Sunday. “We are certainly not giving up on the dream of reaching the play-off final, and we will be fighting for every single point over the weekend.” Edited October 5, 2012 by lucifer sam

IronScorpion
Just looked at riders results for our guests riding at Edinburgh this year & this is what i found. Doolan 14pts from 7 rides Masters 9pts from 5 rides Haines 8pts from 5 rides Obviously decent guests are hard to find at short notice, judging by Gathercole being 16th choice at Ippo, but we have been solid from 1 to 6 so guests must step up to the plate to help us get that bit of history. EC Rides Again
Every Scunthorpe fan's worst nightmare. Timing couldn't be worse. Good luck to the guests on both sides, but I find these "Select" vs "Select" matches a little unsatisfying.
Skeggy Scorpion
Sums up the Season thanks to Kevin ,Sam and Joe but there not as good as the 3 missing Scorpions and the play off Final is a long shoot now with only a 50/50 chance of Josh and Nick being fit for the two meetings vs Workington

Far to many injuries inthe sport now IMO.BSPA have to have a serious think about Modern equipment and track prep they don't seem to mix well together. The throttle works both ways but some thing needs to change. Also with Josh being half fit anyway and the meeting well and truly lost, what the hell was he doing being given a RR ride, same to Nick, meeting won,had to ride 5 meeting on the trot, all play offs, what the hell was he doing in heat 15!!!! They are professional sportsmen. They are highly paid, especially at Elite level. Each stood to gain hundreds of pounds from their extra race. They didn't fall off to spite your play-off dreams

lucifer sam
Earning money?? But seriously, injury can happen to any rider at any time - you can't wrap them in cotton wool! That's the unfortunate truth. Nick would have jumped at the chance at a Heat 15 in a TV match - a chance to show what he's capable of. Plus some extra dosh - an extra ride at EL level is lucrative. And 5 meetings on the trot in 5 days would be no problem to Nick - he's a young, fit lad. At the end of the day, it's just bad luck. There's no point in trying to point the finger and blame someone, you just have to get on with it. Nothing is over yet; there's nothing to stop us scoring points from tonight's meeting.
