Scunny 2013

Recommended Posts

I think we signed him as an educated gamble but look how Campton has performed on his 5.0pt average (he was a much better & known prospect than Tom) he has been going great, getting better & better at Glasgow & still only managed a 4.5 average in his first season. I think O'Malley would be a better comparison & he has been dire. I would have expected Tom to get 3pt max average even before his accident.

I admired the lads will to succeed & supported him until it became obvious that he had zero confidence after the accident. I dont want to see him again for the Scorpions but thats just my opinion & i'm sure Richard/Rob will make whatever is the best choice.

It was good to hear Ashley say that he wants to be back at Scunny next year on Sunday, I hope he will be :-)

I'm pretty sure last year he said he wanted to be back at Sheffield.......

4 Ashley Birks 5.59

5 Michael P Toft 5.21

its the same with almost all riders in the end of year speech on centre green a couple of years ago at workington kevin doolan and adrian rymell both said workington was there first choice for following year and both resigned for there old teams soon after

its just a case off tell the fans and potential sponsers you want to stay just incase you do return

On scanning through the latest SS, it seems 2 of our assets are bound elsewhere. If true that Neilsen is Ipswich & Mildenhall in 2013, it now states that Wilko would prefer to be at Redcar, again in 2013 repaying the faith put in him & sticking by him(his score early season did not do him justice) & also repaying his new "guiding sponsors" Motive who are also helping Ulrich Ostergaard & our own Dan Phillips.

Oops! sorry for the wrong company & for putting me right

There is, also, as expected, Richie at Lakeside as posted in the Lakeside 2013 thread(contract signed). Friday night track so a loan fee will be forthcoming. It says expected to be a CMA of 3, with a CMA of around 6 after a few meetings(roling average),others posted converted PL of 3.47.

2nd guess from me after seeing some of the internet gossip (riders signed by other teams) in the last couple of weeks;

Auty 8.09

Birks 5.59

Jorgenson 6.42

Howe 7.89

Toft 5.21

T.Young 3.0 + 1 other rider upto 6.30 average (e.g.Stichauer 5.74, Skidmore 6.13, Bager 5.72, Poole 5.99, Aarnio 5.67, Eklof 6.24, Hefenbrock??)

I believe Irving will want to ride at Worky (closer to home), Richie will be riding EL on a Friday track (Lakeside) & Nielsen has already been signed by Ipswich.

Your pick Lewis will, i hope be somewhere not far from the final line up.

Auty 8.09 improved by .6 & would still double up for Birmingham(Morris situation proves need to ride EL & PL)

Howe 7.89 injury curtailed his improvement but a snip on his CMA(Probable d/up again wth K/Lynn or Leicester-home club if going EL) & depending on other commitments.

Jorgensen 6.42 improved by .6 7 probably more to come

Toft 5.21 Got to be back as his improvement in the 2nd half of the season was a joy to behold. His CMA is still carrying some low scores so, again, more to come.

Birks 5.59 improved by 1.6 & easily adapted to captains roll & becoming 2nd string.

These last 2 places are hard to pick as 1 3 pointer keeps Toft/Birks probably swapping as the 1st reserve.

The other place could be between Skidmore, Sanchez, Bunyan as has been proved this year, the riders need to score well when riding away.

I'd Love to see.

1. Josh Auty 8.09

2. Emiliano Sanchez 6.20 (Blew the Scorpions away with a 15 point max on his last visit to the EWR certainly knew the line from list last spell with the scorpions)

3. Thomas Jorgensen 6.42

4. Ashley Birks 5.59

5. David Howe 7.89

6. Michael Palm Toft 5.21

7. Stefan Nielsen 3.00 ( I know a lot of people think the deal is already done for him to ride elsewhere but as a Scorpions asset it would be good to see him given a real chance to show his stuff and i really think the current under 19 british champion can up his average by 2 points or more next season)

Total: 42.40

That team would be very exciting to watch and have a very good chance of defending the Scorpions Crown next year.
