Rye House V Sheffield In The Pct (past Caring Thingy ? )

Recommended Posts

Saturday ? You are going back a lot of years if you went to Saddlebow for Speedway of a Saturday. Must say though Shadders, I do miss the meetings at Hoddesdon between the two teams. Well remember one race between Tom and Tai, where they seemed to pass one another on each bend, both giving each other room to race. I think Tai got Tom on the line. Happy days

Joking apart, I do miss the rivalry between the 2 clubs. Would be a boost if Mildenhall moved back up to the PL. Some great rivalry there.

I've been thinking about why we have been paying the highest admission fees for the poorest team in the league so decided to use some reverse psychology with Len.

I'm going to insist on paying £17 to get in, £4 for my program and £3 for a can of lager. With regards to the 'equally split' weekly prize draw, let's make it 49/51 in Len's favour!

At the end of heat 15 we will all turn towards the referee's box, nod approvingly and appalude loudly, where upon I will call for three cheers for the referee.

There will be an obligatory 'empty your pockets' of all change upon exiting the stadium collection, in aid of the ' stadium caravan regeneration fund'.

All this being nice is bound to reduce Len to opening his wallet and ensure we have the best team in the league next season. Don't see why no one else thought of this!

Don't give him any ideas!!!

Seems I've been suckered onto believing information on here. I'll stick to finding out for myself from now on. Sheffield back to full strength and could be Gjedde back for Rye

Did you think that you had Richard Lawson as a guest?

Wasn't going to bother with but a last minute change of mind and a third trip kto Sheffield. We never get anything up there and i don't suppose wil will tomorrow either, be interested to see how Mellgren goes this time around

i've got to admire your dedication or question your sanity!. i used to have your enthusiasm back in the 1970's & 80's following wimbledon home and away. despite having no team to support i've still attended 68 meetings this season, old habits die hard!. have a safe trip tomorrow. :approve:

Following one of the most traumatic seasons in the club's history, the Silver Ski Rockets aim to finish on a high note in the end of season Premier Challenge Trophy competition.

The official October averages now change the Rockets’ reserve positions, with Kasper Lykke and Simon Lambert filling those berths and Jason Garrity moving up into the main body of the team for the first time.

Len Silver is calling upon the fans of Hertfordshire and Essex to rally round the team and show their support in big numbers for the fixtures against Ipswich and Sheffield,. "We need to end the year on a high note" he said. "After such a disastrous season our riders are rallying to bring some late success and there is no doubt that the quantity of support will help that cause. Our result against Edinburgh was a clear demonstration that the Rockets can beat the best and I am very confident that the team will succeed."

Charlie Gjedde remains sidelined and John Sampford, team manager, is scouring the country for able guests to cover his absence. Workington's number one, who loves the Owlerton track, Richard Lawson, is drafted in for the match at Sheffield this Thursday, while regular "honourary Rocket" Jason Doyle is on standby to step in for Gjedde against Sheffield on Saturday.

Shadders if you have your children staying my money says you will have The Great strictly X factor British dancing bake off (might even be on ice) inflicted upon you

You'd lose your money then.

The main TV will be showing the GP. There are TV's in 4 other rooms if they want to watch all that guff the brain dead seem to enjoy these days.

Yes yes I got it wrong and thought Lawson was riding for Sheffield. Fairly easy mistake as the Sheffield fans have been left without a clue about injuries to Franc and Sanchez many times this year. Tigers pre race statement says we're back to full strength and Gjedde to return for Rye.

With the weather looking sunny at this point and no rain predicted, I'm going to say I fancy the Tigers will win with there biggest score of the season.(Neck on the line).
