Scunthorpe V Edinburgh (play-offs) - Sunday, Sept 30th (5pm)

Recommended Posts

Good luck to The Mighty Monarchs and Scunny today, let the best team win.

Let's hope for a classic speedway match with all riders staying safe.

All results seem a possibility and if Wee Joe remembers the quickest way around the Scunny track he might make the difference today.

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case. Craig has stated on twitter that he has broken ribs and his season is over.

Another accident that happened infront of me on bend 4. The nature of the track, when traveling wide then downhill, takes you even wider & into the fence. It did not look fierce with Cookie bailing off but, similar to Armstrong, consequences are severe. A good rider with enormous potential. Get well soon Cookie.

I expected more of a tight match than what turned out & if it wasn't for unfortunate engine problems in hts 9 & 10, when in good scoring positions, the winning margin could have been greater. Though, this can happen to any team at any time. I expected more from Tully & Wethers. A good start, putting pressure on the others so let's see what this coming weekend brings. Well done to all the Scorps, even Bunyan, another good display from our guest. Deserved more than his 4 pts, 7 if not for his retirement, would be above his CMA, but i appreciate his efforts. Well done to all.

Ju.If you are reading this, as well as our own forum, to support the lads up at Workington could have had an atmosphere similar to Mildenhall last year but, you were running this against possible bad weather but, more importantly, against the last GP. Sorry you have had to cancel the bus but many thanks for trying.

Well done to Scunny.

Edinburgh didn't really turn up as a team today by the looks of things.

Joe scored very well.

Cookie getting injured again didn't help but whether he'd have made the difference I don't know.

The Scunthorpe side were on fire today and the 2 engine failures by Scunny riders probably evened out the unfortunate loss of Craig Cook, best wishes on a speedy recovery , special mention must also go to reserve Joe Tabaka for getting stuck in and showing the other Monarch's how it should be done, but in the end a very easy win for the Scorpions.

Well done Scorpions! The loss of Cookie probably made the job a little easier, I was very impressed with Tabaka but the others didn't match up to our Scorps. Our youngsters looked determined to make sure of the win, all riders contributed with points. Jason had some hard luck, heat 9 and in the lead when he had an e/f. best wishes for a speedy recovery Cookie.

Tabaka was fab - I made a point of grabbing him in the pits (as oppose to his testicles) and shaking him by the hand for his spirited efforts as well as thanking him for his entertainment - he was Top drawer - and as for Craig Cook - Get well soon lad

MPT was well on the gas and entertained - Nick Morris was outstanding, as was Josh. Gazzler scored well, NLRC Ash was very good value (as always) and Jason as guest let nobody down - id take him in my 1-7 !!

Tempting fate, but with the unfortunate injury to Cookie tonight this group is there for the taking for the Scorpions. Get well soon Craig.

Pretty entertaining meeting despite the lop-sided scoreline. All the Scorpions were on it, with Bunyan unlucky not to score more points.

MoM performance from Joe Tabaka for the Monarchs.

It's maybe worth clarifying that despite Craig's earlier twitter update which I mentioned, he hasn't actually been to hospital yet. He just thinks he has broken ribs and will be visiting the hospital for x-rays tomorrow.

He thought he HADN'T broken his wrist on 17/8. Let's hope he's wrong again.

Full marks to Scunny though, much the better team.

I forgot to mention the 125`s last night, brilliant, each one of them and great to see

Great stuff wasn't it Montie? In particular, the Woodhull brothers were at it hammer and tongs against each other.

The great thing about Scunny (well apart from the brilliant racing!!!) is that there's no messing about. Yesterday, including the second half, we had 26 races in 2 hours and 10 minutes. All over by 7.10pm and I was home in good time, despite someone playing silly buggers and closing part of the M42.

All the best

Rob
