pablo133
the sport is a joke - theres no problem having the playoffs it keep the lower teams interested, but it should be a seperate trophy to the league winners who have played 24 matches to earn it!!!

Backless
Â Get of your high horse - where did I say there SHOULD be repercussions? I said it would be interesting to see if there were any. Â As long as nobody was endangered then it's OK as far as I'm concerned, if his actions were dangerous or threatened anybody's safety he should be fined. Â Wind yer next in, Gladys - so now its whether anyone was endangered or anyone's safety was threatened. Maybe Wright should be locked up after Abu Hamza is booked on his flight, then he won't be able to endanger anyone.
StevePark
Pure and simple in my book Newcastle Diamonds are the Premier League Champions 2012...play offs a joke...crowds are dwindling and will get progressively worse as time goes on" Â No they're not..... not yet anyway! Â Whilst I am against the Play-offs to decide the League Champions, as it has already been stated on many threads, speedway isn't the only sport with a play-off system to decide the Champs. Â Rugby League, Rugby Union, Aussie Rules, American Football (Superbowl), Baseball, Ice Hockey and Basketball to name just a few, use the Play-off system to determine the Champions. At least in RL the team finishing top at the end of the 'regular season' get a trophy. Â Does that make all the above sports 'a joke'?

The White Knight
i agree,if it wasnt for the tac ride you would have come second in the league did you no that!!!!! playoff would be great then i guess!! Â You really MUST learn to read Posts properly. I clearly stated that I was totally against the Double Points System whether it be for the HOME Team OR the AWAY Team (I notice you never copied that bit - I wonder why). It has nothing to do with where we came or come in the League - the System is just plain - WRONG!!!. Â By the way, as you accuse me of bias, perhaps I had better clarify my position - if Newcastle had got a Double Points Ride at Somerset that would have been wrong too. Â Just so you know.....................
montie
The play offs are there to provide entertainment, something to aim for and to keep the season alive for teams, and i think that on the whole they do that,id like to think that also they could provide a small financial windfall to the promotions involved, but this season the why the draw has worked maybe isnt going to provide that now,but i think it could have  Tac rides have never been one of my favourite things either but they also can provide some entertainment, either winning them or defending them  And in a sport that lets be honest, can be half dull at times,we need all the excitement and entertainment we can offer

montie
 Agreed - but not by making the Sport unfair .  I agree but i guess that you could say that by knowing the rules, like we do at the start of the season or before a meeting, you could say that it is fair  In straight shoot out matches home and away like you had on sunday,i dont think there should be tac rides, but in a run of the mill league meeting well,we all want to see close scores as much as possible so maybe there is a place for them  And one last thing i think when riding at Rough Park you should have 4 x tac rides  regardless of the score!!!

No There is so much that can go wrong in speedway.Them sports don't have to rely on machines. Also SCUNTHORPE could win the title using three guests and rr This would not be credible in my view Edited October 5, 2012 by bri1966
