Trees
Certainly hasn't looked to be enjoying speedway for years ,not surprised about his decision at all. Yeah I wonder if he'll have one last hurrah in GB, perhaps he'll retire altogether ..................... we have all certainly enjoyed his efforts over the years, particularly when he rode for King's Lynn in 2000 and 2001

Daniel Smith
the first of the old guard to bow out,top bloke really hope he graces the domestic scene for many years to come.straight swap for ward ?? That is the obvious solution. The other being it will allow space for Chris Harris to keep his spot in the series as one of the old guard Think it's a bit of a surprise. He would have been well in for the Championship but for his shoulder injury. I personally think his bowing out way to early Edited September 24, 2012 by screamer
NeilWatson
From FIM regs: Should a rider or riders who have qualified directly, either by being in the top 8 of the Final Overall Grand Prix Classification or in the top 3 of the FIM Grand Prix qualification system or who qualified through both systems, withdraw prior to the start of the Grand Prix season, the first rider or riders available on the Official Grand Prix Qualified Substitute list shall replace him or them. Still searching to see how the Qualified Substitute list is made up!

pandorum
An absolute credit to the sport of speedway just like his dad. He will be missed on the GP stage which he graced with his prescence. Was rather shocked by this as I expected Crumpie to come back next year as he still has a world title in him regardless of his woes this last couple of year. Hopefully he will spend some time in the UK as well as Sweden and Poland. Whatever he does I wish him success as he is one of the finest riders to ever grace this sport.
ABS
Speedway history is something that appeals to Crumpy and it was great for him that he created his own piece of history on Saturday in being the first rider to score 2,000 GP points. Having watched Jason regularly throughout his time at Belle Vue, I would like nothing more than for him to come back to his spiritual home and lead the Aces into a new, successful, era at the new stadium (fingers crossed). Whatever he decides, best of luck in the future Jason
PHILIPRISING
MY understanding is that the ninth rider (currently Andreas Jonsson) in the overall standings will replace Jason in 2013. He certainly intends racing in domestic speedway next year but have no idea whether that might include the UK. Much might depend on where he intends to live. He still has his house near Milton Keynes.

Good luck to Crumpy, an excellent servant to the series over the years. JT.

That wouldn't have been the case this year Philip (see extract from Regulations above) is that changing for 2013?
pandorum
That is the obvious solution. The other being it will allow space for Chris Harris to keep his spot in the series as one of the old guard I would rather see an empty space in the GP than Chris Harris.....it would likely score as many points.......and I am a fan of his as he is a very good league rider (most of the time) Part of the reason Crumpie has packed in was to give the young upandcomers a chance so the SGP should respect that wish and let a youngster in rather than one of the older guard. "I leave the series with Chris Holder on the brink of star status and fellow Aussie Darcy Ward ready to step onto the GP stage. I have no doubt they will lead the new generation on track with style." Jason Crump Giving Chris Harris ANOTHER chance would be insulting to Crump so let's see the young guard given all the picks including Ward. Cliffeboy
One of my all time favourite riders and a great servant to the sport.I remember back in 2003 I think when he honoured a guest booking at Somerset on the friday before travelling to the GP the next day with his first World champions title still in the balance,a bad off at the OTA would have scuppered his chances, top bloke, and will be missed on the GP stage. Good luck to you mate.
PHILIPRISING
HAVE emailed the FIM for clarification but we were led to believe over the weekend that prior to the start of a new SGP season a rider from the top eight withdrawing is replaced by the next in the final standings while a rider have qualified through the Challenge is replaced by the next in line from that event. Will post FIM replay asap...
