BossMan
Only just realised that this meeting was on and part of a double header. Does anyone have team news or is nobody bothered as Rye are not part of the "Play-Offs"

westhamboy66
With Garrity back and Connor Coles looking good this team now looks very good. Shame about the playoffs as given the current teams strengths we are now a match for anyone.

waco
Raiders suffered a series of problems in the early heats but came on strong in the second half to run out winners by 49-41 Ben Morley was very unlucky in the Bronze Helmet match race against holder Ashley Birks when his bike died while holding a comfortable lead on lap two ..Jason Garrity 14 from 5. was excellent.... Connor Coles another solid display 10+1 from 6 ,,despite a nasty crash showed great character to carry on riding well ,,Ben Morley 9 from five including 1point for pushing his bike for over lap when his engine blew (expensive) while on a 5-1 with Jason in heat 15 ...James Sarjeant 7 an unlucky first bend fall restricted his scoring,, but a fine pass outside on bend 3 on Ashly Birks was the highlight of the meeting ..Shane Hazelden still looking to find the form he is capable of, scored a solid 6 from 4 inc a vital victory in heat 14... Luke Chessle had a disappointing night i think he was trying to hard on a very wide line leading to unnecessary falls ,1 from 3. Danno Verge a couple of gift points but struggles to stay on the pace at this level but good experience for him and with Conner going so well he can be carried for now ,did jump out of the gate a couple of times so there is improvement...Good win and showed we should have made the play offs under a fairer system.. Glenn
What happened to Richard Franklin who I thought signed?
waco
I believe Richard Franklin had problems with his only engine forcing him to give up at least for the time being That is what i heard but i cant garrantee the facts ,,It costs these youngster at this level a fortune to keep riding ,,, an engine failure can cost hundreds , and without financial support few could keep going... Ben91
Such a shame the cut off date robbed the Raiders of the play-offs. Connor Coles is going to be some rider if he carries on in the same vein he has started his career, he looks very raw but with another season of NL racing behind him he will be a top rider at this level. It's a shame Tom Braddock decided to quit the sport, he was looking very good and would have formed a formidable reserve partnership with Connor if he'd carried on. Whilst I'm here it is vital the Raiders continue next season, our young lads have a lot of talent, they have all struggled due to a disjointed summer no doubt. I'd like to see Morley, Sarjeant, Hazelden and Coles retained. I'd add Robert Lambert as he is a top talent and to get him racing competitively round Rye in preparation for PL in 2014 would be a good idea. On top of that if we could get Marc Owen back I reckon Len could be the man to help him get over the bad knocks he has had and back on track to fill his undoubted potential. For the last place, Len should try get hold of the young lad Adam Ellis who has been impressing for the IOW. Failing that bring Luke Chessell back. That's a young, hungry side who could all potentially progress to the Rockets. 1. Morley 2. Ellis/Chessell 3. Owen 4. Hazelden 5. Sarjeant 6. Coles 7. Lambert
waco
The Raiders are now 4th in the league table, 3 points above Stoke and if we win our last match which is quite likely at Kings Lynn we will finish 3rd,,which will make a mockery of the play offs and the person in charge of this farce ,Mr Morrish ,,he must go...

Did you ask Len why he didnt run this before the cut off date??,the four day previous to the cut of date? I feel for the youngsters at Rye house, they have done realy well this year
waco
Montie It Is not something you do questioning Len...If Len thought it could have been done ,,he would have done it,, He would have been very aware of the situation.... And yes everyone at Rye is totally p....ed off with the stupid rules in this league . Administered by Mr Morrish who creates farce after farce every season... And yes everyone at Rye is totally p....ed off with the stupid rules in this league . Administered by Mr Morrish who creates farce after farce every season... Although you have a point about the running of the league,a change is needed,i still cant see why, with the date already extended to last wednesday, and with 4 empty dates,if the rye house promotion wanted the team in the play offs he could have run it one way or another. And as to questioning Len,if one of his riders ,your grandson i believe, cant ask him then its a bad job, As Vog rightly says Stoke did two on the trot to get them in If for financial reasons Mr Silver didnt want to loose anymore money running the NL,well to be honest i cant really argue with that either
waco
Vog ,No i did not,, and no he did not, and yes Montie ,it may have been a financial decision how would i know ?,, I would not presume to tell Len how to run his club,, At Rye there is also the Rockets to consider it is harder for two team clubs to fit everything in especially with this summers weather Edited September 24, 2012 by waco
Ben91
Maybe Stoke were offered the chance to come to Rye before the cut off date and didn't agree to it because they didn't want us in the play-offs where we'd stuff them again? Just playing Devils advocate
westhamboy66
The cut off date came before rye throwing a spanner in the works by winning at stoke. Political decision to ensure the standalone teams stoke and isle of wight got through Probably lucky for len anyway as now we are in the pl losers tournament he would have struggled to fit the two extra meetings if the raiders had gone all the way But did you ask him? Stoke ran twice in 2 days in order to complete their home fixtures. Did Len? How rye run their meetings cannot be compared to a much emptier fixture list at stoke. Given the 7 rainoffs some of which were double headers and the farce of the british semi final he did very well to complete the home fixtures. Once it became apparent that rye had a chance of qualification the cut off date could have been extended another 3 days without interfering with the playoffs. Poor show and how stupid the league table will look when the top four sides wont be in the playoffs...mockery
