DJCullip14
Ridiculous comment. (from a fan of the wooden spoonist elect) Remind me how many meetings the Robins have won away from home? The same as last season, we lose a couple (mainly due to weakened sides) and some press the panic button.Have faith, we have a terrific top 5, Kennett will come good again and Ash and Kacper will continue to punch above their averages. Young Nick is hitting form and Hans will be back firing everyone up soon. Being a Panthers fan I know alot about carrying riders (Nicolai Klindt and Patrick Hougaard) . I agree that the Robins have a good top 5. However the reserves struggle away from home and it is costing the Robins points. There is alot of pressure on Nick Morris and Edward Kennett to perform in every meeting because if they don't then Swindon will lose. Swindon would have won at Arlington and at Kirkmanshulme Lane if the reserves could have scored a few points not forgetting Eastbourne's only away point this season came from the Abbey Stadium. dump that clutch
Can't believe all the doom and gloom on here... no team is going to want to choose Swindon for the semi's..... (should we get there) All to play for still, assuming we can get a full team out, we will be there come the end of the season..
Crazy robin
Certainly a massive influence in the pits, comparable to Leigh Adams(style of riding as well), and the other great Robins captains from the past. I like Hans but he's not in the same lge as Leigh who missed hardly a meeting for Swindon unlike Hans who even when not injured or at his child's birth which are understandable misses meetings.

Your theory is not unique to Swindon though. Any EL team only has to have a misfiring heat leader and the pressure then falls on the second strings and reserves. You quote the defeats at Arlington and Kirmanshulme Lane, but what about the victories at Alwarton and Perry Barr? Wins that were inspired by good performances at reserve! As i have stated, Swindon in my opinion have the best side in the league. Teams/riders go in and out of form throughout the season, that never changes, what is most important is that the team hit form more or less together at the right time. I am confident this Robins team will get to the playoffs and have the depth and the class to win the final again.
orion
To much gloom on here ...the bottom line is when we have a full side out we win ...as I said before getting in the top 2 this year is not that important as the teams who are going to make the top 4 look quite well matched . Not sure why Kennett gets so much stick I am not a fan but he keeps chipping in with 7 points and people are still not happy .
foreverblue
Gomolski and Birks were signed to make up the numbers, there are not too many alternatives on their averages, they both chip in at home and the play offs are all two-legged matches, so i don't see a problem with that. Kennett is not in the form of his life but i can't see dropping him would be the best thing to do, he is getting points, maybe not quite as many as expected but i would stick with him and support him. Swindon are still the best side man for man and i fully expect them to win the league.

You've just put the kiss of death on the Robins If they can field their full side, especially Hansi, they should reach play-off final. Kid Morra is riding a lot better now, so if Edward is having an off-night, as last year, someone will cover. Best top 5 in Britain, but unfortunately as we know in speedway, the secret is having a reserve banging in the points!

The Robins will be in the Play-Offs but they will not win the EL because the reserves are not strong enough. It will only take one rider of the Robins top 5 to have a bad meeting then you will lose. As I have said before I am a Panthers fan and I feel we would have been Play-Off contenders if Nicolai Klindt and Patrick Hougaard could ride like they can do. The only reason why the Panthers are not Mid-Table is because we can't win meetings with 4 riders (Kenneth Bjerre, Ryan Fisher, Kenni Larsen and Dakota North). That is why Swindon need Nick Morris and Edward Kennett to perform in every meeting.

The only reason why the Panthers are bottom of the league is that the team have not been performing consistently (unless you include performing consistenly badly) and the changes made have actually weakened them further rather than strengthened!

Just the one change, and what a absolute blinder that has been. Micky Dyer, Bach or Bjerre the younger would have been a better choice.. Kindt for Gomolski ???

Personally Blu, i would have kept your two poles from last season (worth the admission money themselves at the EOES). Why on earth Buzz in particular was sacrificed goodness only knows. At least he could make a go of things on away circuits. Norbert was different and needed another season on the smaller tracks. But your management knew this, hence why they perservered with him ( initially). Now there's talk of sacking Sundstrom to try to strengthen!! Just crazy. He is a class act and just having 'one of those seasons' like most riders do in their early years. Lawson is another one. Why was he ditched? He showed loyalty and promise in Panthers colours. At reserve, he came up with a couple of double figure scores last season. I saw him score 11 i think against Lakeside at the EOES. Lasse Bjerre is yet another one. Averaged around 6 riding at number two in his first full season didn't he? Perserverence is the key at Peterborough in my humble opinion.

Absolutely agree English, the racing is a lot duller without Buzz and Norbert. Lawson was ditched to accommodate Hougaard at reserve, another blunder IMO. They could have gone with the backbone of last years side which was both entertaining and looking play off possibles before the injuries wrecked it. We can only presume Jan put this years team together, bless his cotton socks. I would jettison Klindt and Hougaard and bring in Lasse and Micky Dyer, at least they would give it a go...Gomolski would have been worth a place, he is mustard at the EOES..

Winning at home is not enough.

A ORLOV
Slight change in the discussion Sky tonight mentioned that as well as the next meeting KL -Swindon Wed June 26th, the week after they are showing Birmingham -Swindon on Wed July 3rd. May have to go to the Birmingham meeting on the 3rd as we have another gap on the 4th and then 18th of July unless we can fit in previously rained off meetings.
