stratton
Well, if tomorrow night is rained-off (and the forecast looks terrible) it means we cannot re-arrange for either of the two "reserved" dates mentioned, otherwise Kennett will be missing. As for Poole, yes, it's great, but we have to be careful to not become too complacent, because as tonight shows, the wheels can come off a team very quickly indeed. Yes i do agree not to get complacent,i would of kept Doyley and maybe had a different look of the team. But this side we have assembled does look decent i was happy with it anyway.I am one who isn't keen on change unless it is a dead cert to be better we will see how thing,s pan out.
theblueboy
You have to ask the question of why Nick signed for Somerset when Jason was already there as he could've easily been set up elsewhere in the Premier League. The reserves will be changed as soon as they can be or at least one of them as simply both are too inconsistent. Birks has had 4 meetings so a little churlish to say at this stage he is inconsistent whilst Gomolski has increased his average nicely both home (6.35) and away (5.22). Anyway, how can you tell they're inconsistent? Do you have a house overlooking the Abbey?
LagutaRacingFan
This is why Team GB is going backwards, Why is Kennett looking for the easy route by riding in the PL? It's strange how Dakota North and Ryan Fisher have polish clubs but not Kennett or Barker. With Nicholls out of the SWC running, We need Kennett and Barker to step up and support Harris and Woffinden. hagonshocker
I thought we only wanted to use 2 double uppers??....or are we contemplating a jig round as its ok saying we anticipate no fixture clashes but surely thats on the assumption there will be no rain offs or re-arrangements?...what if a Lakeside away suddenly clashes with a rerun Edinburgh Berwick meeting...pl gets first call...throw in Morris missing (if fit) and we are in deep doggy doos. I think the league and its rulers need to get there boat in order for 014 especially as the UEM meetings will cause even more problems and EL riders will tell the BSPA to do one and drop the UK ....add a rider like Kennett who will attempt to double up AND ride in UEM meets and you are asking for big problems It's not doom and gloom, just reality. Did you miss Birks scoring two and Gomolski scoring three last week? We now have to use R/R for Morris, with the reserves covering three of his four rides. And potentially we will have Kennett missing on Thursday 06 June and Thursday 20 June when Berwick have fixtures and Swindon have "reserved" nights. If thats the case that will be two meetings i wont be bothering with....how mnay more wont thats the problem
van wolfswinkel
You have to wonder who makes up these Micky Mouse rules, so we sign EK first yet potentially can't use him, bloody ludicrous, and you wonder "not" why fans can't be bothered. Too right, try explaining that one to a newbie! Speedway is a great sport to watch, its just these daft rules that bugger it up. Boobs
If thats the case that will be two meetings i wont be bothering with....how mnay more wont thats the problem What a strange lot you are! Berwick are racing on two Thursdays that Swindon don't currently have a fixture -- and here we find you 'won't be bothering' to attend Blunsdon on these nights? You'll be lonely if you do. Why dont you read mattk's post a little more slowly as he clearly mentioned they are reserved dates....and i answered if they are filled then i wont be shortchanged with more poxy r/r....you must understand the term 'filled' with a profile pic like that?...or does the reference to a twit sum you up? The operative word being "could" so should be clarified, like has been mentioned if we ride on a Thursday minus EK, even more fans will get fed up with who makes these micky mouse rules, surely EK rides for us and Berwick get the choice of pretty much any #1. This is becoming a joke now riders unavailable r/r ect. the EL now is totally -----d. if we see one meeting a fortnight we are doing well. How has British speedway become from being the main powerhouse to basically surviving off the scraps.

A ORLOV
This afternoon Kacper was in the World Under 21 semi at Rawicz, and although he was the meeting reserve he won all the races he was in. He got 9 from 3 rides where as the winner, P Dudek got 11 from 4, had Kacper had 4 rides he could have been first in this meeting. The meeting was abandoned but he finished 4th so will continue in the competition. It is good that he has qualified but how many meetings may he miss for Swindon. MattK
There only appears to be three rounds this year. We are away to Peterborough the night before the 2nd round at Berwick, so he may well still ride for us that night. http://www.fim-live.com/en/sport/speedway-under-

van wolfswinkel
Seems a disjointed fixture list when in freezing early April the Robins had 5 meetings in 8 days(2 home/3 away)...won 'em all, on a great run of form....now we have very few this month with blank Thursdays. The Robins only had one meeting in just short of 3 weeks end of April. Also the Elite table has a bit of a lop-sided look, with some clubs playing catch up.Birmingham ridden 5, are above Eastbourne, ridden 12! They are almost halfway through their fixtures! We still have half of May, June, July, August to go. Without the cup matches there is even less speedway to watch. Surprised pre-season favourites Poole are bottom. Have they ever been bottom this century? Don't think they will end up there though. Looks to be the most level EL for a while, with no real outstanding or abysmal team so far. Fans could lose interest, and spend their dosh on other leisure interests if there is so little track action though. At least the Town have finished their fixtures. Hopefully there wont be too many meetings lost to the weather. Perhaps if next year there is one big league of say 18/19 clubs same as late 60s/70s there will be a more consistent fixture list riding home and away once. Not much chance of a return to the more popular weekend racing dates though. Good speedway pull-out every Monday in the Adver. This week's article was a tribute to Robins legend Lee Richardson. van wolfswinkel
Thursdays getting boring with all the rubbish on the tele v w, just keeping interested by following updates and listening to the meetings on the radio. There are cheaper(and warmer) alternatives to Blunsdon Hill, such as ten-pin bowling and pub quizzes. Or there's The Tube a History of the London Underground BBC2 9.00. , Edited May 15, 2013 by van wolfswinkel
