Swindon 2013

Nothing against Peterborough (a few of my rellies live in the area at Yaxley), but they should be concentrating on their own problems of how to increase crowds there and win trophies, something they haven't done for a while. My cousin's son used to go, and said crowds have gone right down. Why dont riders want to turn out for them? must be some problem behind the scenes. A tiny minority on here just waffle on about the same thing. Sad gits...get a life...who gives a flying feck :lol:

Lots of waffling speculation there beefy :icon_smile_clown:

There's not much the fans who turn up can do about the points you make. If those fans had been listened to then you'd still be looking for a trophy. And if we're talking about waffling on about the same thing, remind us again of those riders who don't want to turrn out for us?

Your facts are incorrect, Lawson and especially 'asset' Bach have never refused a team place. Some research would be a good idea if you are to be taken seriously. Why are you still harping on about this anyway, it was debated ages ago. The racing has started ..

No they never refused but were they not both promised places? then at a late hour let down.Like last year what's the betting after a month or so your team will change personnel again.

Well they do have a lot of assets to call on - just not good enough to start the season with and assuming they want to ride for them

Maybe this will clarify things. Bach was never involved with Lawson's comments. http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/speedway/panthers-were-not-on-a-promise-1-4657500

Here here :t:

Ramblings still going on then - things must be incredibly dull down Pboro way !

Anyway, onto Thurs/Fri this week Vs Lakeside, is Ginger allowed over, what about young Morro and Ash - are they available for both fixtures ?

Neither available fo the Friday fixture...the perils of the double up system....

Not good enough really is it, I want Swindons (and every other teams) riders to represent their club regularly

It's not as if there are loads of meetings these days either - another nail...

Iversen said (31/1/13) “I still think it’s a good club. I like (team manager) Jan Staechmann and I like the people involved in the club. They were good for me when I was there and that doesn’t change - Asked whether he would contemplate a return to the East of England Showground next season if Panthers made an offer, he replied: “You can never say never to anything. A year is a long time. It’ll probably all be forgotten by then.

Andersen will go wherever he gets the best deal and if Peterborough gave him that then he'd return so Sidney's list is a bit short now!

It would be interesting wouldn't it, to understand or at least read the rationale behind the BSPA's decision making. Why did they make this decision around double uppers this season? Why are they so inconsistent in relation to loan signings? Why was the points limit set to 42.50 this season? Why are attendances never revealed?

There is absolutely no transparency whatsover. It leads to the fans becoming frustrated and infuriated.

Dear Frustrated and Infuriated of Swindon,

When referring to the BSPA, I thought most people can see right through them!! Isn't that transparant enough for you??!! :D

Then a few promoters wonder why crowds are falling all the time, blaming the weather, recession etc., instead of listening to the fans(who pay the wages) and giving them what they want.

It's the BSPA not so much Swindon and Peterboro who are at fault. Ruining this once great sport with their inconsistencies and petty rules.

They used to run nearly double the number of home meetings years ago, when you didn't have the problems of overseas rider availability and this stupid doubling-up.

I remember years ago in the 80s at Swindon they're was turmoil in the Mawdesley days,so a meeting was arranged.Loads of fans turned up and aired there views it was so simple communication. At Swindon i think they run a good show a few moans but generally good but the big bug bearer is the rules.Being implicated without any input from the paying customer if things don't change soon things could become terminal for some clubs. Now sky are pulling out maybe the stupid d/points rule might be discussed i hate it but if the fans generally want it that's ok.If the sport gets it's act together thing,s could just survive i do fear for it longterm after the sky money has gone!

Good scores tonight from Ashley 11+1 from 5 as Scunthorpe beat Sheffield, Nick 8+2 from 4, Jason 12 from 4 as Somerset beat Ipswich.

The worst part of the Robins line up this season is that it didn't have a slot for Jason as yes he'll never be as good as Leigh Adams or Phil Crump but you certainly want him in the team you support & he has so much presence on & off the track.

Such a shame Ronnie Russell didn't have the sense to see it when he had the chance to sign him.
