Swindon 2013

Recommended Posts

Well done to Rosco for his 2 awards. Ive congratulated him personally too!!

Swindon Robins will submit their team for the 2013 season tomorrow, and the Advertiser understands it will include Troy Batchelor.

No surprise there A ORLOV, but submitting it is one thing - having it accepted is another!! Either way I hope that whatever the decision, there is also a full and official explanation!! It should be a delight to read!

17.6.5 The BSPA MC monitors all proposed moves and has the sole responsibility to approve all (re-)Declared Team Line-Ups having been satisfied they are in the best interests of the sport.

As others have pointed out the important bits of the above rule from the 2013 regulations which are now on the SCB web site are

BSPA MC & sole responsibility to approve.

Cant see why it will be stopped and it isn't like it will be a secret!

Presuming the loan will be ok`d due to March 1st ruling.

You know they just wont let it rest tho!

I mean what is it about treading the moral high ground and then dictating how riders should be utillised!!

I didn't realise we lived in a dictatorship still!

Is that the ruling Patchett says doesn't exist or is it the crayon one in SteveO's rulebook?

Looking forward already to "Team Declaration Day March 1 2014" and a lot of informal chats between riders and promoters during 2013.

As I have previously stated - just because someone wants to sell doesn't mean anyone has to buy - especially if the parent club are not planning on using him! Surely even you can see the sense in that (regardless of what and why the MC apparently ruled)

You don't think there are a lot of informal chats that go on anyway - why should it be any different? As has previously been the case you sign up your riders that you want and look to loan out your other assets and loan in any other riders that aren't wanted by their parent club!

What Peterborough have done this winter has reached new lows - even for them

The only sense is that you pay the price or do without unless you come to an agreement, and if there are restrictions in place which wouldn't apply under normal circumstance then that's tough, life isn't always fair

Informal chats for future team spots which would previously still need the agreement of the asset's club but now everyone can seemingly bide their time and talk about their intended target for 5 months once the season ends. Henceforth this shall be known as the Swindon rule!

Jeez, it's not life or death mate, we await BSPA ratification

Two roll-eyes in one post, it's catching

Good Post!Good post! Good post!

Its little wonder that speedway is in total freefall and sky is turning its back on the sport. With a complete lack of respect for rules and regulations now being applauded by the fans, i can only see total meltdown in the near future.

Or, if it goes wrong for Swindon tomorrow - and it may well do - the Asset-holders Option.

Which rules are being broken then? What about the one where, if a parent club do not want to use an asset, the club he was last on loan to has first call on their services! There is no moral high ground!

The MC have made a ruling, if that ruling is to be made redundant a few weeks later, then the sport will have lost all credibility. If MC rulings become toothless, domestic speedway can only suffer. Its a road to ruin...

Quite.

Which is why I still think the MC will uphold their ruling and Swindon will have to buy or go elsewhere.

But the alleged MC ruling is wrong - it is totally inconsistent with the "rules"! You Peterborough fans keep going on about the rules but those same rules say that a rider can go out on loan if not being used by their parent club! I use the word "alleged" because the only place where I have seen this ruling confirmed was from Julie Mahoney of Peterborough!

FYI - the sport has no credibility anyway! If a decision made is clearly incorrect then the right thing to do is to overturn it!
