Swindon 2013

Recommended Posts

Not according to the BSPA press release shown on the BSPA website.

Where in that press release does it say events are allocated rather than bid for?

Can rely on you to have a pop at Swindon

It says that due to the success of last years series, which saw good crowd levels and superb racing, every staging track remains the same.

No mention is made of a bidding exercise for 2013.

Exactly. Just says the venues remain the same. No mention of how and why the venues are chosen in the first place.

In an ideal world it would be nice if each track could hold an additional prestigious meeting ever year. Unfortunately this is not an ideal world and hence, there's not enough meetings to distribute out amongst the teams So when a good track puts on a good meeting then its reward, would be to offer the club the same again. .........

Swindon have a decent raceable track, no reason the ELRC should not stay with them. All the fans want is a good racing track for the guys to compete on....

The racing was pretty good in 2012 in the final at Blunsdon, but in my opinion it was much better in 2011.

You are right ER, 2011 was a cracking ELRC and the atmosphere was amazing, heard a lot of praise amongst the various visitors and from the riders about the track.

A better line up in 2011 certainly helped.

There were still the usual two or three riders pull out in 2011 though Crazy robin. Must admit i do arrive at the stadium wondering just how many of the line up will 'have the flu'.....

Kacper banking on Troy the translator:

NEW signing Kacper Gomolski is hopeful Troy Batchelor’s future can be sorted soon, as he believes the Australian will play a vital role in helping him settle into life at Swindon.

The young Pole will line up at reserve alongside Ashley Birks following aloan move from Peterborough, but Batchelor’s return to the Abbey Stadium has not been confirmed yet due to the ongoing dispute between the Robins and the Panthers.

The 19-year-old doesn’t speak English, but with Batchelor fluent in Polish the youngster is keen to see the two clubs to come to an agreement which would allow the new Australian champion to return to Blunsdon.

“I know Troy from when I rode at Peterborough and he is a good guy, and I hope it all can be sorted for the good of both clubs and that they can make a compromise,” Gomolski said through manager Krystian Plech.

“He is very helpful, and he speaks good Polish because he has ridden there for a long time, and he is good in the paddock which is very important too. I am not sure what is going on because I am in Poland, but I hope the two clubs can make a compromise which will see Troy ride for Swindon.

“But it is important as a speedway rider to focus on yourself even if it is a team sport, because it really matters to make sure you are in a good position.”

Gomolski has spent the winter preparing himself for his first season with the Robins, and he continues to build his bikes to ensure he is ready to hit the ground running when the new campaign begins.

It's not a 'borrowed team', it's the way speedway works in this country!

I didn't realise Troy was fluent in Polish. :t:

Remind me who you borrowed Larsen and Fisher from Einstein, the loan system works well It's your promotion who are causing this bickerinbg, Perhaps an agreement to buy should be if Batch is used for a third season like Iversen has been,
