stratton
Dont want loads of changes, but i would love us to sign Schlein he could put at least a point on his average if not more.Could average 9.5 at home at his best.Rory Batch, and PK as heat leaders? improvement in all of them. EnglishRoundabout
Schlein will be much sought after Sidney. He has pretty much got everything going for him in my opinion. Plenty of scope to improve, a real racer, totally committed to British Speedway, as brave as they come, and as tough as teak. If you read this forum, especially the proposed teams for 2013, most posters are including Schlein in their side! Have to agree though, he would be a decent number one and possibly the skipper. I am sure he would accept an offer to lead the 2012 reigning Elite League Champions!
theblueboy
Schlein has shown himself to be a more than competent rider, especially at The Abbey. His ELRC performances indicate a liking for the track and on his current average is most certainly a rider to be considered, however, he is definitely not a number 1 yet and I wouldn't want him to lead the 2012 Elite League Champions. I think he would be a very decent 2nd heatleader and with the riders from this year I think we could have a very competitive side but I also think he will be a man very much in demand over the winter. BuzzCagney
If Nick decides he wants to stay at Swindon we just do what Poole did and only offer a loan fee....hes likely to be around in the EL for years unlike your Miedzinski's and Janowski's and thats a hell of a lot of loan fees potentially?! Did Poole even pay a loan fee? Edited November 3, 2012 by BuzzCagney
Bomo1
Did Poole even pay a loan fee? A loan fee and a fine - the same as Swindon for Andersen, or was it Batchelor, or both? I can't recall!!

I think Schlein and Batch are at the same stage, both have the ability to get in the Gps.They need to push on now in Rory'ies case he has been so unlucky with injuries also Rosco gets on well with him so maybe that could give us a edge. BuzzCagney
A loan fee and a fine - the same as Swindon for Andersen, or was it Batchelor, or both? I can't recall!! Genuine news to me. However I was under the impression Peterborough has already declared their team minus the two you list there. Swindon had still planned on using AM. hagonshocker
A well thought out response from just above....must be as the great one that is SCB agrees...... Just to add that Batchelor was actually indeed 1 point away from being a gp rider...just saying

Just to add that Batchelor was actually indeed 1 point away from being a gp rider...just saying Craig Watson was once a few rides away from being in the GP series. Lubos Tomicek was once a point or two away. Doesn't suddenly make them GP riders. As it is I think Troy may make it one day, if things fall his way on the day why not? But I don't think Rory has it in him, he's just not got "it", he's not tough enough. Very good EL rider but won't ever ride in the GP's IMO. Maybe you are right? he has never struck me as a softee thou can mix it.Also his record in the EL is good but he has real ability very quick IVERSEN is the presedent it can be done he is a fine example don't give up. Schlein IMO will never make it to that level.
DunRobin
A loan fee and a fine - the same as Swindon for Andersen, or was it Batchelor, or both? I can't recall!! Terrible affliction, this selective memory & no cure for it on the NHS. As least Swindon spoke to the person they thought had the authority to deal with it at Peterborough & also after Boro' had declared their line-up. No comparison to the Miedinski affair as he had verbally agreed to join the Robins until somebody else put their oar in! Fair point on Puk. I've been saying a while he'd found his level and it looked to be true, 7 or 8 years as a 7.5 rider. Fair play to him for this season. It's not impossible for Rory but I don't think he quite has that ruthlessness, but on the right day, I'd the qualifiers go well, he might make it. I think he'd struggle very badly once there though. EnglishRoundabout
Despite my reservations about Schlein, i would have him in my side for 2013. Hans was brilliant to watch each week at Blunsdon and he is a top bloke and captain. It does appear though that he may appear back at Peterborough for next season. If that is the case, Patch and Rosco need to move swiftly to get Schlein's signature. I would be comfortable with Rory at number one, with Batch at 5 and PK at 3. My team would then be: 1. Schlein 2. Morris 3. PK 4. Zengi 5. Batch 6. Stead 7. Lampart or Aspergren
BuzzCagney
What have I missed about Hans heading back to Peterborough? If that is true i'll be very sad indeed to see him leave. He's really become a proper Swindon Robin and its been a privilege to have him here as Captain.
A ORLOV
Hopefully just the rumour mill Buzz, as he was a great captain in 2012. Edited November 4, 2012 by A ORLOV
EnglishRoundabout
Only my assumptions Buzz. He still lives in Peterborough, is a Peterborough football fan and guested for them in their last match of the season.
