thecoombdog
Ahh me and thecoombdog doing battle over steady! I only support Steady because i recognise him as a classy rider. When he is on form and confident he is without doubt in my opinion a six to seven point rider. I still reckon he has the ability to perform to that level too. Sure, he lost his way this year, but he came back and delivered when it really mattered. He is a must for next season. Not because i support him but because he is on a bargain average and will produce at least 7 points at home and probably around 5 away. Seb Alden, on the other hand, delivered in the 5 matches we used him. However, he has had two or three seasons with the robins in the past and has rarely produced his best, in fact he has flattered to deceive to be brutally honest. Alden would be a risk. Steady on his average would be a bonus. Alden had 5 good meetings. Steady had 4!!!! All joking aside I would take Steady back as a double upper for a season and see if he can get some form back. I dont buy this bargain average stuff though. Thats what everyone was saying about him this season and he has knocked nearly a point off it again. Dont want Magic back but Zengi is a must for me. Cant recall him ever letting us down in the past and his Polska and Sweden form in 2012 show he is a lot better than a 5.50 rider.
EnglishRoundabout
My thoughts exactly Buzz. The management are missing a trick if they don't put something on at the Abbey. There would be a full house i am sure. A 4 Team Tournament featuring ex Robins riders, or what about a 13 heat 'old style' challenge match using the six point tactical ride. What about putting the meeting on a Saturday night too? Revisiting the seventies? Talking about the seventies, What about putting bog roll in the back straight toilets too? Alden had 5 good meetings. Electric from the tapes, and has Blunsdon pretty much sewn up. Has ridden all of the Elite track too. What's your team for 2013 then buddy? Pinny
The usual "Stead on a bargain average" posts have started...just like they did every year with travis mcgowan who after completing a season of poor form was always "capable of adding a point or two" the following season! Steads a 5.5-6pointer and wont improve on that figure now
noggin
Nick did say in the SS this week, he's fairly certain he'll be in side, so add Hans, Pk, & steady with his Ashtec engines.

The bogs are a Grade 2 listed building so modern pink and fluffy bog-roll is not permitted. Christ what do you expect for 17 quid, just take some newspaper next time you visit. BuzzCagney
I too read about Nick being pretty certain he'll be back. Happy days! The more the merrier though when it comes to this years team.
stratton
Zengota with the options we have i don't see why he would get a start.Hopefully the spine of this years team will be there if so a real good chance of defending the EL title.
johnc
I reckon Zengi is worth considering. Not saying he is a dead cert, but his name will be 'in the hat'....
A ORLOV
Not the same "hat" used for the KOC hopefully.
adam74
Can Doyley still double up next season or not..? Edited October 26, 2012 by adam74
A ORLOV
I think he can as he has continually been in the PL for the last couple of years. A rule change at the AGM might change the situation though.
LagutaRacingFan
from what I understand. Rules will be made at the AGM.

Yes, also the same Stead who struggled to score points away from reserve towards the end of the season! His average over a season has yet again dropped including a spell at reserve! So what if he scored well in play offs... for the majority of the season he was absolutely crap.
A ORLOV
Simon did have a bad time which through the year was getting worse, but all was sorted and I, and I am sure quite a few, would welcome him back next year preferably as a d/u rider as he wants more meetings. Just look at his results at Poole Ist meeting 2,0,1,0, at no 3 2nd. 2,0,0, at reserve EL Final 3,1,3,1, at no 2, which was after engine problems sorted.
