Hel'n'Back
Would be nice to see the Sheffield team every week... it seems a case of one on and one off! How can you build consistency like that?
Halifaxtiger
Well Mr Elephant man , Lulu and all the others on my case during the close season .............. was it a case of me having an "agenda" or just the fact I was right about this rag tag excuse for a speedway team ? Hang your heads Machin and Hoggy for putting that tripe in front of us on a Thursday evenings ! I'd say you had a point - as did I, Spinny and several others who were concerned about the make up. I notice you haven't made any comments about it until the team were beaten at home by Redcar (as have others) and lost at Rye House so your view might stand up - which it probably wouldn't have before hand. I'd say Messrs Machin & Hoggart were wrong about the reserves but as I got it wrong about Hall & Albin that makes us about even. There is cause for concern here but gloating over the fact that you had a point won't help. Edited May 13, 2013 by Halifaxtiger

Hang your heads Machin and Hoggy for putting that tripe in front of us on a Thursday evenings ! to be honest only those with very rose tinted glasses couldn't see the potential problems, it didn't take a genius. think albin and knight could still come good but we cant afford to carry haines and koppe as well as giving those two a chance. I cant understand why albin hasn't been at reserve when he was the one that showed more potential at the press and practice day Edited May 13, 2013 by The Third Man

Yes you've got an agenda which is why you've not posted until two injuries have given you the opportunity. Just because some guy who works for you can't get a place at Sheffield there is no need to keep slagging the promotion. Why don't you follow Leicester or something; you'd come across as positive on their posts!

I think you have me confused with someone else ???? , no one works for me I am an employee not an employer ... so thats three things you are WRONG about now ! "TWO INJURIES" ... and when have Sheffield done a meeting with two injuries this season ? Thats 4 things you are WRONG about now koppe , Haines and Albin are nowhere near good enough for the PL . Albin can do it as he proved in the 1st couple of home meetings but he's not doing it now , Haines has gone back to Scunthorpe form and should not have to be at reserve to score points at his age , Koppe ... Well I hope you agree with me about him , if not then god knows whats happening in your head ! As for Knight , he's had an awful lot of gift points and really needs to gate to bother the scorers but I feel he may be worth standing by for a while yet . The top three (when fit") cannot carry 4 riders , its as simple as that and we are paying 15 quid a week to watch 4 riders that are national league standard ... the only agenda I have is wanting to watch a competative team !

I wonder why you have chosen this moment to post. Could it be that for the first few weeks of the season that you were choking on your own venom as Sheffield won their first three home PL fixtures, qualified for the League Cup semi finals and put in creditable away performances at Leicester, Berwick & Scunthorpe ? Haines is averaging around the 6 point mark so how you can say he is 'nowhere near good enough for the PL' is beyond me. With the exception of the Redcar match, Albin has scored at least paid 7 in every meeting at home and his amazing riding style is worth more than that. As I said, there is cause for concern here at some of the low scores, particularly at reserve. But to suggest that Sheffield do not have a competitive team (at home, certainly) is nonsense.

Halifax , you see the riders mentioned trailing in poor 4th places like I do ... just not good enough . changes must be made or it will be another short season with financial woes and maybe the end of speedway at Sneffield ! spin king
Here we go with the Elephantman and Oilyrag show. Both claim that they don't have an agenda. Truth is they both have agenda's Oilyrag who you only hear anything from when things are not going so well, funny how when the team were qualifying for League Cup Semi Final, then when things don't quite go our way he on here banging his drum calling fans happy clappers because they don't agree with what he says . The comment about Joe Haines made me smile, funny how we both backed a rider in the past who was older and no better than Joe, sorry I re- phrase that comment me and his boss. Then there is Elephantman, who if your not bigging the team will win the league and all th riders will make vast improvement on their averages you are classed as been negative and supporting the team. Two things ned to change at Sheffield. (1) New Team Manager, only the present Team Management could missed the chance to put Facu Albin at reserve for the start of the season, and in their troles of joint Team Managers they have made some monumental cock ups. Dave Hoggart is an excellent front man on the mic, get back doing what he does best Nigel Hinchcliffe, he has lovely smile and makes a nice cup of tea so I hear. Jack Lee is there at Sheffield every week ask him to have a go. (2) Fundamentally the team is okay just needs a few teaks here and there, but I think what they need to do is drop one of the reserves or let them job share the role. If we wait till the riders on assessed averages get true averages, by that time by reckoning we will have around 6 to 7.5 average to get replacement rider. Then move Joe Haines from riding at number 3 to number 2, a position that is far more suited to him. That would in turn put Albin at reserve. I think then we might see results start to pick up again. . .

Halifaxtiger
Sounds interesting. Please explain Don't go there. If he does it, Jordan's face says it all. Well yes , it seems you are both wrong. Halifax , you see the riders mentioned trailing in poor 4th places like I do ... just not good enough . changes must be made or it will be another short season with financial woes and maybe the end of speedway at Sneffield ! I can understand your position to a degree on the strength of the side. If the likes of Tigerite and Spinny (who are as passionate and fair about the Tigers as anyone) are concerned there's almost certainly a problem. What I object to is your comment that they are not competitive (which is rubbish) and the fact that you have been quiet since the start of the season and then chosen to stick the boot in when they have a couple of poor results. I made comment about the team during the winter but there's no way I would be crowing about the fact that I might (and might is the word) have been right. Nothing would give me greater pleasure where Sheffield Speedway is concerned than to look a fool with the predictions I made.

spin king
I believe Ricky Ashworth is a free agent. Not too sure about that, he is injured, and Swindon who have allowed Eddie Kennett doubled up with Berwick have said that move is a temporary move, so maybe when Ricky Ashworth is fit then he might move back to Berwick. I know the people Spin King is on about but I am not one of them. HT , not gloating about my close season comments I just didnt like the tone of some replies I recieved during the winter from certain people and I will stand by my comments about the team , its gonna be a short season without the correct changes made sharpish and even if changes are made can you trust the people in charge to make the correct ones ?
