Fact !

Dak North and Ben Wilson would have been better picks and would cost less by the time the two johnny foriegners get set up over here with vans and accomodation etc !

Fair enough, if you've heard that from the promotion then so be it.

Isn't Koppe living and working in Leeds? And isn't North a Johnny foreigner as well? how can you say that North and Wilson are better prospect when you haven't seen either Koppe or Albin ride in a competitive meeting for us yet? You may be right, but would personally prefer to give it until April at least before making a decision on whether they are crap or ok or fantastic

As has been said, Koppe is based in Leeds. Albin has already got his own bikes at Berwick and is also set up with his van from up there. Of your alternatives, I suspect Dakota North might be a bit of a Johnny Foreigner too. You're an attention-seeker, not a sensible poster.

So Machin was going to pull the plug this year. What about the other 19 years. He must have been breaking even at least in those years. He made the decision on the team building last season. Rubbish team, so the fans showed what they thought and stayed away. If the team are no better this season same result. Then by by the tiger's. Unless someone would like to take over. But who in the present climate. Machin as done a good job keeping speedway going at Owlerton. But it sound's like he's had enough. But hay ho Mr Hoggart might want to take over.

It seems to me that everyone knows that Adam Ellis is fantastic but their can't be more than a few hundred who have actually seen him. You can make judgement now on what you know now.

Besides which, April might be too late. If they aren't up to scratch then fans will walk away (or not come at all) and it will take a great deal to get them back.

I am well aware of the financial situation and I don't believe Hoggy is blackmailing anyone in his press release, just telling things as they are.

But what Sheffield Speedway needed for 2013 was an attractive side with some potential and the ability to push for a play off place simply to get the fans back in. The way I see it, that team is not even guaranteed to win most of their home matches and I think in the first few meetings the promotion will see just what the fans think of it.

If your sure about the circumstances of the two riders then fair enough , I can still see the promotion incuring costs from using those two though , as for the other two mentioned ... you know what you would get with those ... lets hope the three gambles picked perform or it may spell the end for Sheffield speedway !

Don't drag me into this! I'm too busy planning on dying in 12 hours

You out of the coal bunker yet squall ?

Stead

Haines

Albin

Wells

Hall

Koppe

Knigh

Ritchings

Can't wait

Too true. How could Hoggy be blackmailing anyone when he has explaining the situation AFTER the decision was going to be to run in 2013 was announced. Some have s**t for brains, or are just stirring it.

Turn up or else no 2014 ?

Where has he said that ?

He's said that after last season they almost pulled the plug, that Sheffield are one of the few clubs that rely on income from speedway only and that there has been no restraint on costs.

He hasn't said fans should be grateful, accept what they are given or anything of that kind. It appears to me he is saying how things are and having a pop at the rest of the PL rather than the fans.

Give us something to watch, or no 2014

Sadly, I think this hits the nail squarely on the head.

Christmas Surprise For Tigers Fans

The Sheffield Window Centre Tigers have made a U-turn and signed Sean Wilson, Andre Compton, Doug Wyer, Reg Wilson, Bengt Larsson, Arnold Haley, and Bob Valentine. The move is to hope the 1000s of stay-away fans that continue to live in the past will flock to Owlerton and fill up the promotions pockets with wads of £50 notes.

Oilyrag was heard to say "Brilliant! The good old days are back. Now I can be a happy old fart, and enjoy my speedway once again."

But, it wasn't all good news. Spin King Junior was left looking like he'd just discovered there isn;t really a Father Christmas, and cried "Who is Bengt Larsson?" while wiping away a few tears.

So after explaining the current financial situation that ALL clubs are experiencing, and having told you that despite these difficulties they have decided to still go with 2013, you think that that it some sort of blackmail. He has made the right decision for the riders, fans, speedway in general, and it would appear to me that he has given you all a good year to think about that and for you to make a decision as good as his.

Are you up for it or tell folks you had a hand in the speedways closure. You decide. I would expect both Hoggy and Neil to continually monitor the team and will make any changes that is necessary. Neil especially has form with things like this, Sheffield is probably in the top two teams that have competed in the PL over the last decade.

to start, i have supported sheffield through thick and thin for 44 years, not just the last 10 good ones, mostly thin years as well, and i dont think Hoggy is blackmailing anyone, its not his style.

but i will reserve the right to spend the money i earn on what ever i want to, if that isnt speedway, because i dont think it is value for money then so be it.

so i will not be blackmailed into giving my money to sheffield each week by someone saying it will close if i dont, have you ever thought that if i dont go because i dont enjoy it then i obviously i wont be bothered if it closes will i?

however i do not want sheffield to close, i want to go and be entertained each week, but i will not take the blame if it does because the product is not value for money.

I think they should have gone for Rick France instead of Larsson and Moran instead of Andre.

The promotion have to put a product out there worth attending , if its how you see it and we HAVE to go we may aswell set up a direct debit to the club to take some cash every week , its the same as a resturant , , a band or a football team ... if the product is poor people will not go and its not people like me you have to convince its the occasional attenders !

With the promoter being in the frame of mind the co promoter is saying he is the last thing they should have done this winter is to go with an experimental team !
