Steve55
small lively Argentinian heading your way. Remember seeing him in the second half after one of the Berwick meetings last season. IMO he looked the business, had style, passed on the outside and with decent machinery could be a star of the future!
alan 1991
you got it plus as a bonus you get his mentor Dick Barrie  Plus a translator for each of them
Stan Duppcomic
Ooh hope he's a seven. That'll make him so much better than if he's a five and it'll fill the points used up!

Elephantman
Its nothing to do with building for the future ... like some said about Jacobson last season they will be dropped by the end of May ... all we are seeing now is Hoggy bumbling his way to another poor septet ! I've resisted commenting this year on team building as it just turns in to a negative bun fight. When all of the team are announced it may be possible to take a view; but you'll only know once the racing starts. However describing Hoggy as "bumbling" did make me laugh; I've meeting him on a few occasions at Owlerton and "bumbling" isn't a description that sprang to mind. Have you ever thought to have a chat to him one Thursday to suggest he's a bumbling individual?
Fromafar
IF Albin is heading your way I reckon you will win the league with Stead at NO1. the NL.
Halifaxtiger
Its so difficult to judge teams at this stage, for me the team looks like its going to be one built with the first changes in average in mind..assume your new No1 drops a bit off his average, koppe could easily drop two points(think hes a decent rider but most assessed guys drop back first) and all of a sudden you have got a lot of options. I think you could be super strong especially at reserve with a change when averages allow and sometimes you have to build that way when you use assessed riders What you say is undeniably true. The thing is while the hard core will come virtually no matter what, the floaters (for want of a better word) will make their mind up either on the basis of the side named at the start or in the first few weeks. If it looks crap and/or turns out to be that way, they'll disappear with great speed. You then have the problem of getting them back, and even with a top class outfit that's very difficult - ask any Newport fan about that one. I'd maintain that it is absolutely crucial that at the outset the named 7 are impressive and look like they are going to be up there. Its too early to make a definitive comement yet, but based upon what the Tigers have got so far I'd say the last three have to be pretty special to achieve that.
Shale Shaker
Don't understimate the effect a rider like Stead can have on the rest of a team. Last year's team was effectively leaderless.

spin king
I suppose I am down as one of your "usual suspects" Spinny ? We have not only made one "suspect signing" though have we ? Koppe undiscovered at 24 and beaten by second halfers this year is a big gamble and Knight who is not even an average NL rider is in our PL team , thats two "suspect signings" in my book ! To be fair to you there are quite a few points that you make that, but the problem is that you only seem to come on here when you seek the opportunity to be negative and it seems to be a bit of a mission for you. But there are some good points that you make. I think that everybody knows that Jake Knight does represent a gamble and I would maybe label him as a bit suspect, but lets see how he goes. Koppe I think will be better than what people think, I have followed his career closely since the Darren and Sharon Boocock Academy over in Aussie and he has rode well against those riders, and I don't think he ancient at 24, not as young as most of the Aussies that come I will accept, but still young enough. The one that really concerns me is the alleged signing of the Argentinian, which is for me a massive gamble and I would have preferred the promotion to have gone for some one else. If that is the team with two signings to go it leaves us with 14.88 left for the last two riders, there are some quality riders out there that we could bring in that could do a job at 2nd and 3rd heatleader. But I certainly hope that one of those is not Richard Hall under any circumstances and it has to be riders that are capable of scoring decent points home and away. OILYRAG
Fair points spinny , I do only come on to have a whinge ... cant say I'm into all the pally matey stuff for the rest of the time if I'm being honest. The promotion are giving me plenty to whinge about AGAIN with the new team they are picking , this is a watershed season for Sheffield and a co ck up this season could be the end of the road for the club ... yet they have taken 2 big gambles ... one of which in my opinion will fail for certain and the other could be anything but at his age would have expected to have seen him over here before now ! Now we have whisper of yet another gamble with the Argie , don't get me wrong I think the argie is worth a gamble as he gave a decent account of himself in the U21 champs last season ... but not on top of the two other gambles as well ! It looks to me that we are going down the Plymouth route of two big hitters some foriegners on 5's and a couple ot kids , hope not I know the Argie isn't confirmed or been mentioned anywhere apart from here so this is a subject for another day if it happens ... but its not looking good again IMO , I was wrong about Joe last season , watched him a lot at Scunny last year and he looked finished but I was right about Jackobson and how average the rest of the team would be.. KevL
Yes Damien Koppe is an unknown quantity and isn't a young novice coming through, but how old was Greg Bartlett when he came over to Sheffield. Give the lad a chance he could surprise a few folk

Steve55
skidmore to redcar? Well he's not riding for Sheffield that's for sure! A year or two away from Owlerton won't do him any harm, look at Ricky - really enjoying himself. Pity he picked up the injury, he'd have provided stiffer opposition for Cook in the PLRC! msc1874
In years gone by as an Edinburgh coming to Sheffield was a track you knew that you guys would be a powerhouse at home. Wilson, Compton etc... Even guts like Simon Cartwright would score big. Surely Sheffield being dominant at home would push u up the table. Stead will be great all over. But would signing Richard Hall not be a good move to give stead proper back up at home. I mean the guy is good at home. There seems to be a lot of anti Hall chat here, I like watching him, entertaining rider in my eyes
Hel'n'Back
It says in The Sheffield Star today that Richard Hall is likely to be back.

Me I fall into the latter category, I just don't think he brings to the team what we need and generally he has at least one poor race in a home meeting that lets him down.
