Halifaxtiger
Great signing, welcome back Steady. If this dont pull the crowds back nothing will. would love this team 1. Stead 2. Haines 3. Gathercole / Skidmore / Poole 4. Wells 5. Grajczonek 6. Koppe 7. Nielsen / Jacobs A young hitter like Grajczonek coupled with the return of Stead will create the interest that Sheffield Speedway needs. While it is creating a decent side looking for a play off place, its also about freshening the side and stoking up attention. I'd go for Nielsen, too. He's not at Ipswich, Rye House or Scunthorpe (which is where I thought he would go), Sheffield must be the closest to his home of the sides left and he can certainly ride the place. Wells, Skiddy and Haines (I can see Gathercole staying at Plymouth) all did OK last year. The only (and slight) difficulty I have is with Koppe. He might be a decent youngster but 5.00 is a big chunk out of the team building when you could have an equivalent Brit for two points less. Having him and a 3.00 pointer at reserve could leave the Tigers a bit exposed at the bottom end. Whatever the case, there's no doubt that this is a major improvement on last season and I suspect the crowds will reflect that.
squall
Very suprised Nedermark hasnt been mentioned very good on away tracks..think he would be able to master owlerton after a few weeks.. I'd take him!
romans lovechild
great news about steady, we now have 3 in place using 19.63, which means we could use, ricky wells, skiddy, and mark lemon(who could get the best out of skiddy and koppe) which would leave exactly 3 pts at reserve. 1.stead 2.haines 3.wells 4.skidmore 5.lemon 6.koppe 7. ? some potential there. Halifordukesfan
I'd have rather had Lambert on 4.41 than an unknown Koppe on 5.
speedway_dan
Fantastic. glad he has got snapped up by the tigers and my local track. Will clean up at PL level.
Steve55
Has anyone read the speedway star today? As well as referring to Simon Steads signing it also says that the promotion are in negotiations with Ricky Wells and Richard Hall. Wells deserves another chance as he rode well away, but struggled at home, mostly during the early season, but he was improving - slightly towards the end. However Richard Hall just doesn't compete away from Owlerton and can't wait to leave away meetings. As one of our heat leaders this year he just didn't cut the mustard and had some poor performances. He doesn't deserve another chance. Also I don't think I've seen it mentioned (if it has I apologise) that Skidmore was never coming back next year after refusing to ride in heat 15 in one of the later meetings of the season. The promotion criticised him publicly for this and it was quite obvious during the remaining fixtures that they'd fell out with him. I personally would like to see Stephan Neilsen ride for the Tigers next year, he's an exiting rider who doesn't give up. Saw him in his first meeting at Belle Vue for the Saints/Prowlers in 2011. He fell off, got knocked off, struggled with the track as all the riders did, but kept going - a hero in the making.

OdsalBoy
Hi All, if we had this then I would be over the moon to be honest: 1.stead 2.haines 3.wells 4.skidmore/ Nedermark 5.lemon 6.koppe 7.Nielsen/ Jacobs/ Sarjeant I have also heard Sheffield are in negotiations with Richard Hall, on a personal note i hope that is not true, and i am sure a majority of Tigers fans would agree with me, I like Richard, but we have been there too many times now and nothing has changed. Lemon would be a superb acquisition if he is still available.

Don't think they'll be able to afford Lemon as it seems they've blown most of the budget on Simon. However I'd love to see him at Owlerton, as you say he'd bring a wealth of experience and advice for the younger riders and can still do the business for an old 'un. As I've already said forget Skidmore, but what about Taylor Poole, he's done it before at Sheffield, as has Stefan Neilson, he's got to be the 3 pointer! The Third Man
Has anyone read the speedway star today? As well as referring to Simon Steads signing it also says that the promotion are in negotiations with Ricky Wells and Richard Hall. if hall or sanchez signs again it will be a waste of time signing stead, would love wells but lets keep away from the ones that cant improve
MWC
if hall or sanchez signs again it will be a waste of time signing stead, would love wells but lets keep away from the ones that cant improve Glad its not just me that dosent want to see Hall to return again . Im sorry to the Richard Hall Fans he may be exciting to watch, He is good at home but we all know with Hall in the side we are just not going to get the same performance from him away. What let us down big time was riders not being consistent ,,,,, Do i need to say anymore .... Please Hoggy and Neil lets carry on with the good signings we have made and if Richard comes back then it will spoil the whole team.
spin king junior
Hall would be a disaster of a signing. If Hall & Wells do sign we'll be left with 9.57 for our last 2 riders, which isn't enough to build a decent enough team.

spin king
I don't think you see Richard Hall or Emiliano Sanchez at Sheffield next season, and my gut feeling is that we might not see Ricky Wells either.
OdsalBoy
wells = yes, hall, sanchez, franc = no thank you. As posters have rightly said above, it would be pointless signing stead if those riders were to return. It baffles me as to how the promotion cannot see that Hall isnt going to ever get any better, and that it would disappoint many fans by bringing him back. Hall needs a change of scenery, lets hit it big time and bring in Lemon in my opinion.
Friddy75
They've already broken the bank to sign Stead(someone I didn't want and have explained why many times)so their isn't a chance they'll splash out on another decent heat leader. The best we can hope for now is riders from last season returning(Wells is the only rider thats a MUST)and a mixture of riders that other teams didn't want. tigerowl
I don't want to see Hall or Wells back at Sheffield. Hall is a liability away from home and Wells is the most uncharismatic rider I think I have ever seen. He makes Phil White look like Kelly Moran. The way he performed at Wolves compared to the effort he seemed to put in at Sheffield a couple of days later made me think he just wasn't all that bothered about riding for us. It was obvious where his priorities were.

RS50
How about Josh Grajczonek Ricky Wells David Bellego and Stefan Nielsen. I think that would fit under the limit
