BILKO
Lets just hope Ricky Wells takes riding for Sheffield a little more seriously this time round. I couldnt believe what i saw sometimes, i mean in one meeting for Sheffield at home he's trailing behind Theo Pijper, and then in the next meeting for Wolves he's beating Darcy Ward !, highly frustrating, seemed like he was just riding Sheffield for a quick pay cheque and that his full commitment is with Wolves. So if he doesn't score points what kind of pay cheque does he get? A Blank one I would guess
OdsalBoy
Regardless of what points Wells scores he still gets a lucrative appearence pay off.
spin king
I think that mid table at the moment is the best we can look forward to. The problem is with three riders on assessed averages we don't have any form guide to look at to give us an idea how they possibly might go on. OdsalBoy
Wouldnt surprise me if the opening meeting was Sheffield VS Owlerton Outlaws. Wouldnt surprise me if the opening meeting was Sheffield VS Hull Vikings 7.

OdsalBoy
Could do with getting a training track up and running again, unearthing new local talent, those were the days.

Steve55
I don't think that we have to wait long. I think that the time extension for signing Ricky Wells has been extended which suggests to me that they are coming close to agreeing a deal. Looks like you're right Spinny, guess he will be announced Thursday as you predicted!
Elephantman
Wells that's a relief! http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/speedway/wells-ties-up-a-new-tigers-deal-1-5340906

tigerowl
This is great news. Another season of a rider who turns up with a miserable look on his face in his Wolves kevlars, trailing round behind opposition reserves if he misses the gate, not bothering to acknowledge the fans with a lap of honour if he does manage to win a race. Can't wait for the season to start.

oriole
Just glad Ricky Wells has signed. Think he'll have a big season. So we've ended up with the only 3 riders to emerge with any credit from the embarrassing cup defeat at Newcastle. Roll on march.

You should be taking pleasure from the confusion of those people "in the know" who posted on here that Wells wouldn't sign, and refused to accept any arguments that it might be possible ... On the subject of Wells - when you consider the amount of time and second-chances invested in him by promoters - wouldn't it be great if they consistently did the same for young Brits ...
