BluPanther
Very similar to the Twitter message. I think it is hard to try and read through the lines of what he is saying because he says Europe rather than Britain. Could it be he waiting to announce signing for a team in another country. I don't know, but I just don't see Dakota North riding at Sheffield, next season. . I suspect it will be the Panthers, although if it is Sheffield, you will have got a good un. graz gp
Whoever the last rider is i think we are in for a tough season. A lot on Steady's shoulder's. I hope i am way off. But i am not very confident that most of the lad's will improve on there starting average's. If we struggle will the managment make changes,

AJK86
Well, this looks an horrendous side. Agreed and god forbid if Steady gets injured at all then we will be in serious trouble. We might be solid enough at home but we have thought that in previous years and we just keep getting turned over by much better sides overall.

Adrian Brownell
take steady out of team then this team is worst than last year and that is hard to do cant beleive how a massive team like us have come to this so feed up with the rubbish we are been told by our promotion
yorkshiretyke
Well, this looks an horrendous side. That's because it is Stead and Haines apart. Cant really blame the 3 new lads on assesed averages its not their fault but how can you put all 3 into a team. 2 have never raced in the Premier League and 1 only as back up guest who in fairness was out of his depth at that time. There is no chance with who is left even if it is North/Wells to be challenging anywhere near the top of this league. Too many teams have put together a strong 7 with little weakness. We will also still have around 1.5 points not used which with this team is crazy. One thing i will predict, this team will NOT get the crowds flowing back into Owlerton.

Charlieboy
The inevitable signing cant believe its been so drawn out.If its wells or north for the last spot i fear we will still struggle at home.Too much pressure on the new young lads.My main worry is are we going to make changes if we struggle or put up with it.Time will tell. Skidmore made his 'rookie' debut part way through the 2009 season and finished with 5.87 average. Nothing to suggest (yet) that the new 5 pointers cannot do the same......
squall
Cannot believe so many people presume that Koppe and Albin will do so badly. Give the lads a chance. Judge them after a few meetings. I for one am just glad we have a team to support.
AJK86
FIrst thing promotion should have done is announce simon stead and joe haines with season ticket details and i am sure might have seen a rise in sales, now i dont think they will with rest of side but lets hope they all prove me and other doubters wrong but just cant see it happening even with Steady leading the team out. All i'm saying is surely its too much of a risk putting 3 assesed riders in the same team with little or no experience of British tracks. Especially now its make or break season for Sheffield. bamber
Glasgow doing much the same...they need to be given time....would rather have a team to watch than no speeday at all..
Dcb7
Time to stop getting stressed about ' how poor OUR team is' ! For starters how do we really know how bad it going to be? Think of the positives. Stead back with us, how good will that be watching him rip up the opposition. The new lads, Koppe, Aldin.. These two might, just might be a couple of real gems! Joe Haines, he will up his average no doubt about it! And Richard Hall, why has everyone got a downer on him? Terrific racer round Owlerton! 110%er , Tiger through and through, lays it on the line! Sparky from Sheffield
Don't agree. If they'd announced season tickets at the same time as Joe and Steady and then signed the others, everyone on here would have gone on about them having mislead supporters into buying tickets. They're in a no win situation. Edited January 9, 2013 by Sparky from Sheffield
AJK86
Either way we are not doing things very well this year, regardless of who we are signing the season ticket and admission prices should have been announced early December like every year before this year. spin king
Cannot believe so many people presume that Koppe and Albin will do so badly. Give the lads a chance. Judge them after a few meetings. I for one am just glad we have a team to support. I think that the Promotion is taking a massive gamble with three assessed riders, not very often that riders actually manage to equal or better their assessed average, but has been done so you never know. The big problem is that unlike you, me and SKJ and a few others that will turn up and support the team week in week out, win, lose or draw won't come if they feel the side is not one that is going to challenge for honours. And there lies the problem with the likes of Albin and Koppe they have just never heard of these guys and know very little about them, if anything. But we saw Albin have a spin around Sheffield last season and he had a very exciting riding style, reminds me a helluva lot of Kyle Legault when he first came to Sheffield, and reports say that he has made some big investments in his equipment. Damien Koppe is a rider that I have follow quite a bit over the years, I have watched clips on you tube and I actually suspect that he might be better than people give him credit. The one thing that they have always done at Sheffield is given riders a chance and plenty of time where others would have dropped them at the drop of a hat, this kind of thinking might have to change this season, and I think that Jake Knight could be an early casualty if they do. But we now have the number 1 that should score decent points and win races on a regular basis home and away in Simon Stead, and Joe Haines will in my opinion continue to get back to where he was a few years ago at Kings Lynn before he got injured, and Richard Hall will be Richard Hall capable at home and produce the goods occasionally away from home. The last signing has to be a good one, Wells and North the two names touted at the moment, both have plenty of potential and could put points on their averages. Or could it be a surprise rider to complete the line up, the Sheffield Promotion have a habit of making the last signing one that takes everybody by surprise. But will be an interesting season for us at Sheffield, and I am actually looking forward to it. .
