Paulco
hope your there in 2013 I'm pretty sure we will be . Hopefully the new owners , whoever that turns out to be , have the financial capability to put a competative team on the track . Would love to be free of the constraints running on a Sunday afternoon brings , hopefully that's one thing that can be addressed . Teamwise , i think it will be a very different septet that takes to the track . Age catches up with everybody , and whether Screen and Grieves are riding in 2013 must be shrouded in doubt . Grajczonek has made it clear he is not in love with the Ashfield circuit and i think he'll be looking for pastures new as well . Campton has had a successful opening British campaign and i would like him to stay , likewise Bager who has done very well since coming in . Would love Nick Morris , Theo Pijper and David Bellego back , but whether that is possible is not known . So a septet of Nick Morris David Bellego Theo Pijper Mason Campton Henning Bager And whatever is possible points limit wise for the remaining two riders .
oldswindonsupporter
If Josh is not overly happy riding at Ashfield, why then did he agree to come back? I for one fully expected him to kick on from 2011 and be challenging for top slot alongside Joe, which sadly hasn't happended.
Backless
Because, after his leg break, there weren't many other (if any) places to go? As has been proven, a season standing still rather than moving up, so a wise decision by those that knocked him back.
MD
Because, after his leg break, there weren't many other (if any) places to go? As has been proven, a season standing still rather than moving up, so a wise decision by those that knocked him back. Â Thats true, Josh has been pretty poor this season, the last few weeks apart, and will finish it on roughly his starting average. Joe Screen said in the piece for the Pairs in Speedway Star that he may be concerned about still having the metalwork in his leg but only he will know. I also don't think he helped himself by choosing Belle Vue to double up with. Next year will be his sixth season in British speedway, a change of track may do him good otherwise he looks like becoming a younger Wethers type rider. Nothing wrong with that, just that he showed great potential prior to being injured in 2011. Â I'm pretty sure we will be . Hopefully the new owners , whoever that turns out to be , have the financial capability to put a competative team on the track . Would love to be free of the constraints running on a Sunday afternoon brings , hopefully that's one thing that can be addressed . So a septet of Nick Morris David Bellego Theo Pijper Mason Campton Henning Bager And whatever is possible points limit wise for the remaining two riders . Â Good points, though I think we need to go into next season with a startling reserve. Another O'Malley won't do. I would take Bager anyday on his current average, he gets points home and away. I have my doubts that Campton wants to come back having read his Q & A Twitter posts on the Tigers page a few weeks back, less than complimentary but not necessarily untrue. He also seems popular with one track he has been guesting for. Â Can't see Edin letting Pijper go either, fantastic second string who also keeps the travelling expenses down, but would take him in a shot. In the end if we are running that would be great but also for the new owners to get off to a successful start. Â Riding on a Sunday afternoon at Ashfield isn't my favourite either as it regularly clashes with the football and the inevitable traffic congestion. A return to Friday nights would be my choice, floodlit speedway is excellent provided you can see more than the riders helmets . But we don't currently have floodlights and they are costly to install, so it may be Sunday afternoon's after all.

MD
Glasgow will survive im sure. You need to offload assets like Morris and Josh to raise some decent cash. Â Been trying to do that all season to no avail, EL clubs haven't got the cash apparently. There's also the issue that its widely known Glasgow are on the brink of survival and thats hardly likely to bring in competitive bids. Van Helsing
Be prepared for the doom and gloom from this post! Â I really can't see Mason staying next season, through some suggestive comments on social media (which I dont have a problem with, its Mason's opinion after all), I get the feeling that he really wants be down south where there is a strong aussie contingent aswell as his mates. If he does choose to leave, I would insist on a full transfer to whichever club he wants to go to, might aswell cash in while we can. Mason has been one of the only bright spots this season, however I hope im proved wrong and that he can stay! Â David Bellego? I am one of David's biggest fans, but it kills me to say that I dont think we will see him back at Glasgow any time soon. Despite the fact that the registration issue hasnt been sorted yet, he has a good thing going on down at Berwick and he is equally loved down there as he is up here. So if push came to shove, I think David would choose Berwick over Glasgow, which is a great shame for us, as he is one of the most spectacular riders ever seen around Ashfield. He is the reason people go to speedway. Â Nick wont be back as I think he could start featuring regularly in Poland next season, after an impressive trial with Bydgoszcz, aswell as featuring in EL, so there is another asset I would sell, probably get the most amount of value for him. Â Josh needs to move on for his own good, and I think thats something all the Glasgow fans will acknowledge. And I think Josh knows this himself, whether it be to an EL team or another PL team I really wouldnt mind. Through injuries he has never had a clean run to totally prove himself, watching him at Glasgow every week is soul destroying as he has so much potential and its being wasted on our track. He has done his time with us, time to move on. The Rye House fans seem to have taken an affinity to Josh the last couple of weeks through his guest bookings, I genuinely think that would be a great move for Josh if he were to go there. I think he could establish himself as an out and out heatleader down there, something his career needs at this point and time. A springboard if you will, onto better things. Â James? Back in a heartbeat every day of the week. He is Mr Glasgow Speedway now. A legend in this part of the world who is still holding a pretty good 7.54 average! Comes up with the big heats time and time again. Would definately have him back, but would he want to come back? is it time to hang up the kevlars? only time will tell! Â Joe Screen? A contentious issue for me im afraid. There is no doubting that Joe Screen is the most naturally gifted and talented speedway rider to grace the Red and White since Shane Parker. However the curtain is coming down on his career, and although he is still posting an impressive 9.25 average, I cant help but think that it is boosted by the rolling average factor from last season. For me, Joe is still suspect away from home and goes missing when he doesnt make the gate, both home and away I might add. Obviously this is a bad season for everyone at Glasgow Speedway, but I dont see the hunger and desire from Joe that we all seen last year. Still a fantastic captain and ambassador for the sport and club, but its a big chunk out of our average for a heatleader with a low away average. Â Henning Bager? A breath of fresh air since coming back home. 100% effort on the track and he is that solid rider that every team needs in the engine room, his gating and team riding skills make him a brilliant asset for the team and is on a good average for next season. His enthusiasm is contagious in the pits and in the terraces, looks delighted when he has a good race and boosts morale when he does "The Bager". Definately want him back next season. Â So onto my team for next year. Might raise some eye brows! .. Â 1.Ryan Fisher 2.5.00 aussie. 3.Henning Bager 4.Christian Henry 5.James Grieves 6.Mason Campton 7.Micky Dyer Edited September 16, 2012 by Van Helsing

Swindon dont have the kind of money to buy him outright , i would think Poole , Coventry and maybe Wolverhampton would be the only ones capable of buying anybody these days . cyclone
I get the impression that the number of full cash transfers have been dwindling over recent years, with recruiting clubs opting for loan arrangements instead. Â There are a few clubs, like Berwick, who are prepared to splash the cash on full transfers, but in the Elite League, the vast majority of inter club moves have been on a loan basis. Â I am also doubtful that selling clubs would legally be able to prevent riders moving on a loan basis, rather than a full cash transfer. That being said as long as the Tigers come to tapes for 2013 that is the main thing!   Darcy Ward was probably the last big money tranfer when he moved from Kings Lynn to Poole . Think the days of those kind of moves are now history as you quite rightly say .  We flogged Linus Sundstrom to Peterborough for 20k plus the winter before last, the year we should have held out declaring the side and could have kept him as a D/U rider, but I digress. Â Thats a good point as he is such a popular rider that people are less likely to direct criticism but at times this year there have been more EF's on the road that Justin Elkins, mainly when having missed the gate. However he does have a positive influence on the younger team members. Campton said in a previous interview that Screen was a draw for him signing at Glasgow, however there seemed to be an issue with him and O'Malley. Â Tempting a No1 heatleader to come north of the border is more than difficult, perhaps we should just be grateful for what we have got. cheggie
I am sure I read in a Glaswegian article not that long ago that Joe was contracted to the Tigers for next year as well!? Anyways, since this thread has started I thought I would have a first bash at a proposed team for next year!! I am hoping and keeping my fingers crossed there is some good news for the future of the club at some point?!  Joe Raj Rusty H Bager James Mason C Wright / McBain  And I would also like to know the chances of Sweetman racing again next year, as since alot of criticism has been made of the track - he was one guy who loved the 3rd/4th bend!!!!
